Well have to say the Islanders played a discipline game and stayed out of the box for a change, so the win was earned.
I don’t think the Isles can beat the Canes 2 games in a row so look forward to taking this series in front of Long Island fans.

Kings aren't coming back in this series

 

I like Makar but that was a dirty hit. The pocket was out of play, the Kracken player gave himself up and Maker drove his head into the glass. He is honestly lucky he only got one game. Who cares what Makar thinks what would happen to him, the play was dirty, the suspension was right.

Kings are done this series. I was really hoping they could play spoiler, but they can't match the Oilers.

 

And every fan in Seattle is screaming for blood, probably an overreaction to what was a poor decision from Makar. I don’t want it to get dirty, but I want respect from the rest of the league. It’s a rough game, I get that, I played/coached contact sports for the better part of 3 decades and there gets to be times players become marked as targets, sometimes undeservedly, though in my/my teams mind, absolutely justified. I had guys/teams I played against for years I looked forward to playing against because of the potential for it getting dirty. It’s not what I wanted to see the first playoff series in team history devolve into, and not a reputation I want for the team, but I definitely don’t want us to be seen as a bunch of pussies either.

I love Makar but that def was a bit dirty. I have no problem with the ruling.

Kings for sure are done. They just don't create/possess enough in the O-zone to make an effective game-plan. I know you want to try and slow Edmonton down but you still have to try and rattle Edmonton's pretty sketchy defense/goalies to have a real chance. And they just aren't.

Nice shutty for Oetter. I've been loving that series.

 

It’s playoff hockey, games are faster and more physical, in regular season Makar likely doesn’t complete that check. They lost eyes on the puck, and was a sloppy hit.

Guys check each other along the boards like this all the time, he just got him awkwardly in the head. We’ve already seen bigger hits in this series alone.

2-minute minor was the right call on the ice. The Suspension was also the right call as it’s consistent with player safety.

 

I wasn't really arguing the semantics of the hit. Just was saying regardless of his intentions or what he did or did not see, it was worthy of the punishment.
