Final 3 games of Vegas / Oilers series are going to be brutal

 

Totally back and forth through all the second round, Edmonton-Vegas is the heavyweight bout, my opinion whoever goes on from that series takes it all. Boston going out after that regular season, that’s just a fail. Think everybody expected a better showing, makes the east look thinner

 

I get funny looks when I go to sporting events and yell STARS during the anthem. Then I remember I'm not in Dallas anymore. growing up there I just thought it was a thing you do everywhere until I was like 10 I realized

Seriously, any team that makes it to the conference finals is a contender for the cup, they’re all heavyweights at that point.
The only thing Florida beating NHL record setting wins Boston proves is that Florida is a really good team.

 

Just my opinion which counts for nothing. No doubt anybody left has a shot, just looks to me Edmonton has the best chance stat wise, their d is a weak spot, but with Draisaitl, Mcdavid and that power play that they seem to convert at will, I wouldn’t want to have to face them. If Seattle goes on and faces them in the next round I think it’ll be over pretty quick.

 

Fair enough, Edmontons a solid team.

If you look at the GF vs GA differential in the playoffs the Canes are in the lead in that stat and also on the PK. I’m a Canes fan but fully aware anything can happen in the playoffs so just hope for the best.

I paid attention to MoneyPuck’s stat percentages up until the start of the second round, at that point I fully agree with you, anyone can take it but it definitely makes a lot of sense it could be Canes-Oilers. Oilers look more top heavy, Canes well balanced, be a good series

And on a technicality written in the rules because he was deemed “instigator”. It was a fight both had been discussing having anyway. Meanwhile Pieterangelo's slash and other major offenses were ignored as usual by player “safety”.

Similarly this two handed stick swing on Aho deserved a suspension. Instead the league fined him $5k for high sticking lol.

Yeeeah, I think that’s about all we’ve got in the tank, Dallas just has more weapons, and you can try the win by committee approach until you just get outclassed

I missed the Canes game but congrats to them for moving on. Hopefully it's a good Conference Final, whichever team they get. They are playing really well right now and that is going to be tough for whichever team moves on to meet them. As we have said all year, just such a well-coached team with a playstyle that is versatile and works in the playoffs.

Was pumped that Dallas didn't fall back into that good game / bad game routine. They looked solid. Oettinger was really good again. Pavelski is so fun to watch. Hintz is having himself quite a run too. Hope they can keep it up. I'd love to see them in the Finals. That was my West pick and really who I hope wins.
