Mostly stopped caring once my Team was bounced.. but I'm SUPER happy that 'dingle fuck Tkachuk' will NOT be hoisting Lord Stanley!! _whew_

Probably 1 of the worst overall Playoffs and Finals in a while. First round was awesome and it just got worse from there. A shame. I had high hopes for this year.

That being said, congrats to Vegas. They are relentless and just seemed too deep for other teams. And Hill was solid when he needed to be. FL seemed like a team that got hot enough to go on a run and then their luck ran out. Because Vegas outclassed them this whole series, which made it pretty unexciting. Happy for Phil and Quick, even though they didn't play. Also happy for Eichel. Lots of years getting beaten down by media in Buffalo and he was pretty fantastic all year and all playoffs.

I will say, the officiating for this last round especially was atrocious. Did anyone hear the whistle before the shot/goal on the 2nd goal? No mention of it by any of the broadcast members at all. I thought I was crazy but rewatched it and there was for sure a whistle as the puck was poked from under BOB (before the shot.) And this goes way back to my complaints from Gm 1. FL got no breaks, that's for sure. By no means am I saying it would've changed the outcome but it just shouldn't be that way. Oh well, now the wait until next season. Hope the Pens are loaded up with some new faces, to make for an exciting year for us.

 

This whole playoff felt like the first time the Kings won a cup. Bleh.

I was yelling at the tv "I HEARD THE FUCKING WHISTLE!" , read some article that the reason that goal stood was it was a natural progression of the puck into the next after the whistle or some shit like that

agree on this year's playoffs being pretty ho hum , only storyline I liked was 4th string goalie Adin Hill winning it

 

Ya I would've at least thought the announcer team or the panel between periods would've mentioned that whistle. If they have a legit reason for it still counting, that's fine. But at least acknowledge the whistle was blown before the goal and explain.

I agree. And ya, Hill is a great story. Will be interesting to see what the future holds for him and if he is a legit starter or if he just got hot behind a team that played tight.

Glad some goalies got into HOF this year. Barrasso I loved as a kid. Huge part of those good Penguins teams. Just his rookie year alone gets him into HOF, for me. Just amazing. You'll never see that again.

Also, glad for King Henry. Didn't have the Cups but he was solid year after year. Always 1 of the top guys at his position.

Still would like to see Mogilny in there. Maybe slightly less popular than Fedorov or Bure back in that era, but still 1 of the best Russians to play in the NHL. He should be in.

 

NHL draft tonight on ESPN, should be interesting. No doubt Connor Bedard McGregor goes #1. I bet after 2-3 years in the AHL he gets a shot at the big time.

 

Penguins apparently trade for Reilly Smith. The exchange is a 3rd rounder. The pick was originally Vegas', acquired by the Penguins earlier this year.

Not sure about The Golden Knights' motivation. It's Dubas' first move as the Pens' GM. The Pens had about $20M in cap space but still need a goalie. I hear they would like to move Petry, but at his cap hit, that seems unlikely without giving up a pick.
