As a Flyers fan I am not a big fan of this trade at all. I think Richards and Carter were the conerstones of the team. Not looking forward to more misery.

 

Simmonds is the dark horse in that deal

 

Actually I am happy with the Flyers getting him as he is a work horse and should be a fan favorite in no time.

Hockey game wise, you guys may have had the upper hand this last season - against the Oilers. But your whole organization is sinking hardcore. Aside from the pure "sole killing" aspect of Smitty going to the fLames, the fLames are really stupid to add ANOTHER old veteran player to its roster. If you ask me, Calgary put themselves in the worst position of the league last year - by NOT making the playoffs....and getting one of the worst draft slots of the non-playoff teams. Now their adding to their aged player numbers - with no plan for future.

The Oilers have their issues.....but I don't think a fLames fan has a leg to stand on with trashing another team.

 

true story. both teams ( like mine toronto) are not contending or even playoff teams. Biggest difference is Edmonton has assets. Calgary has only a few, and refuse to use them

Flames fans can't trash too many teams, but the oilers (dead last, again) are one that can be trashed at will. Flames are 11-1 against the oilers in the last two seasons.
