Dirty hit.

The first two angles I saw it looks chicken wing to shoulder.
The third angle shows direct point of contact being a head.

Question is...how many games?

 

I kinda agree with oz, at least from the angles I've seen. It almost looks like he was going for whoever had the puck. But I really don't care how many games, with his reputation even a good open ice hit is going to be questioned. He's a liability hopefully Wilson realises that.

 

Torres is nothing more than a total tool bag!! Skates half way across the rink, simply to target a player in such a dirty fashion. League needs to kick his ass to the curb, before he permanently injures someone.

 

I'm just going the sharks realize this.

 

Haven't seen the hit yet but just heard he was handed a 41 game suspension, gone for half the season.

Definitely a reputation suspension, but that tucked chicken wing elbow is the new flying elbow. I see it all the time on the ice when I referee Midgets. They use it to try and get away with head hits on players with their heads down. It is a dirty and stupid hit, but probably not 41 games dirty or stupid if it's anyone else involved.

 

Has to be done to show the league has some balls and good riddance. Can't see him coming back and if he does he will just go out head hunting again. Hoping no one picks him up if the Sharks dump him. Tons of good players not playing right now for this jabronee to still be out there tossing elbows.

 

There's no message being sent, well no real message, players know they'll go back to their old ways of dishing out inconsistent rulings.

 

I think the message is pretty clear with the large number of games being handed out in this case.

 

To him and a diminishing other few. But we still will see worse hits then this with very little punishment.

 

Do the players giving these worse hits carry a history like Torres? He does this again and he's banned from the league.

 

Not sure what to think about this. Cool and exciting as he's a HOF guy but they just spent $7m per year on a coach
