I'm glad I went and, you know, actually reff'd hockey for the last two and a half hours rather than speculate on a rulebook I've never read.

 

And let's all just be honest, when a team has lost eight straight and is playing the way the Canucks did tonight shit is going to happen. You can point at whoever you want but it was the score on the board and some hurt feels on the Canucks that escalated shit. Same thing that happens at every level of hockey.

They play again in Vancouver. Hopefully the Canucks have their shit figured out and it's a more competitive game on the ice without the blowup from both teams.

If Canucks fans think Martin should be worried, well, I'd be more worried about whoever goes after him. Other than Mr "Lose My Shit Every Year Sometime and Fight" Miller I don't think anyone of Vancouver can do more than get pummeled into the ice unless they pull a Bertuzzi. Yes, I went there. That's what happened the last time a Canuck threatened someone. They couldn't win a fight so they punched someone in the back of the head and broke his neck, Canucks style .

I never said Martin "needed to be worried" I said he , as arguably the toughest guy on the Leafs , went after a kid in his 4th or 5th NHL game who is not a fighter

and I said I thought Kadri was a douche and that his hit was illegal and judging by the fact he got a charging major the NHL refs , who I assume have read the rule book agreed

and I said the game had turned into a shit show , that was the result of both teams and is not too surprising after Kadri's illegal hit caused Daniel Sedin to leave the game under the concussion protocol , but you guys knew all that already

Plus I think Dorsett could likely hold his own against Martin and I wouldn't doubt that we find out

 

I cant see a suspension, what would you call it? Charging? If you call any hit where you leave your feet a half inch when hitting the league would have nobody left

Martin went after him after Burrows was the little bitch pos the whole NHL knows he is and speard rielly and then jumped him. Rielly never fought in his life even in junior and our team (being that we actually have something to play for unlike vancouver who is a shit show) cant have out best dman getting hurt or concussed because a pos player forced him to fight.....canucks fans are just WAH cause they lost 8 in a row. Leafs will probably beat the piss out of them in a few weeks if thats how it goes again.

 

Fuck that I want another shit show game that 6-3 and smoke them. They deserve nothing, they can continue to fall to the basement and go fuck themselves. Kadri's hit on D. Sedin appears to be shoulder on shoulder. Suspension unlikely given past @NHLPlayerSafety rulings:
The hit wasn't late, 1st point of contact wasn't the head and he didn't leave his feet . The league rarely dishes out suspensions for hits from the side unless they result in injury . Hitting from behind and the principle point of contact being head is what they go after all the time.

I'm guessing if they wanted to give Kadri games then Miller would of faced a similar fate. Kadri's hit was on the shoulder, OZ-T can watch the replay ,and deflected to the head. Kadri's force of impact and his straightening out of his legs lead to the charging call which, from the officials angle, is easy to understand.

Miller leaving the net after a similar fight to the Rielly encounter broke out started that line brawl and if the NHL had of thrown the book at Kadri due to his repeat offender status I'm sure they would of had to do the same to Miller due to his history. They made the smart call by just leaving the calls on the ice alone and not issuing supplimental discipline.

 

I agree with the 5 mins because its a big hit and the refs are not jesus and have replay in their brains but theres no way in hell that could be suspendable in the NHL or hitting is done. Sedin was fine, hes a champ and took it and came back. Kadri gets hit like that sometimes too

 

If I was a Canucks fan I'd be worried. While the emotion was good to see from a team that started off hot and then went dead cold that sort of frustration can lead to some unpredicable results.
