This debate brings the song lyrics ‘I put on my cleanest dirty shirt’ to mind.

Both players are a complete disgrace.

Yeah. I would suggest it’s time to look at dumping the instigator rule and let the game clean itself up. We all know that won’t happen though.

Just how bad will the Lightning kick the canucks ass tonight? Any predictions? I'm going with 4-2 lightning.

I'd stop thinking about how great your team will do against a cellar dweller and start wondering how long it will be until your team is sitting 2nd in the Atlantic. I'm pretty sure the Lightning would rather play someone out of the Metro rather than the Leafs who can actually keep up with them in the first round.

I hear ya though can only wonder if that would just become the proverbial can of worms. Guys can hardly throw a clean hit as it is without having to drop their gloves later on in the game. It' such a stupid dance to have to watch.

If you're relying on a single game in the regular season to define a series you're definitely a hockey fan from Florida. 2-0 is not an ass kicking nor is it typical of a Leafs game.

Not sure what a cold has to do with anything? Florida joke I'm assuming?

Without the instigator though you would at least see the matter settled on the same play. That takes a lot of the watching and waiting out of the equation.

They meet a few more times. Again though my point isn't that the Lightning can't beat the Leafs. I should hope the Lightning can since they are pretty much a built and ready cup team where the Leafs are a young team just coming into their own. My point is that the Lightning are .500 in their last ten and have put up a few stinkers against bottom dwellers. If Boston gets past them they will end up facing the Leafs instead of a team like the Flyers/Jackets/Islanders. Which team do you feel the Lightning can get past easier? I'll give you the hint, it's not the Leafs.

The leafs don't put any fear into the Lightning, that I can assure you.

Enjoy your delusions then. I guess this is the trash talk forum. I was hoping you'd learn to talk hockey like most here but I can see that was a mistake on my part.

Stop the play to watch the dance?

If the instigator were dropped in instances of clear head shots or violent infractions that are going to be penalties I could agree. I think retribution on clean plays should result in game misconducts to the instigator, whether immediate or later in the game. Fuck the goonery, I prefer hockey

True. It's a tough call either way though because, as you've said, either way you've still got dirty play. I guess I just feel it's not punished on the ice anymore. Maybe if the league was stronger on suspensions it would work out more.

@OZ-T I just found out I work with Linden Vey's brother. I never made the connection until he mentioned this morning that his brother is going to the olympics lol.
