The only thing Kadri did wrong was not injure the guy. He should of went all out McSorely. If he’s going to stand up for Marleau there he should of taken out a Bruin permanently. Maybe then the refs would taken better control of future games in the series.

 

I agree the league has no consistency but if you think it's a"Sunbelt" thing you're more delusional than I thought.

Serious truth, I don’t think anyone liked that game tonight. The Bruins made it a point to push the Leafs around and the Leafs didn’t respond well, that’s on them, but the officiating was terrible. Boston lost a couple of defenders to late hits and Kadri doesn’t chase that crosscheck if the DeBrusk knee is called earlier in the game. I expect Kadri will be out for 1-3 games, again there’s no consistency so any of those numbers make sense, and the refs will get a slap on the wrist. That crew probably won’t get another game in this round. I also expect a clamp down on roughing and dangerous hits overall before someone gets hurt.

I 100% believe though that Kucherov only received one game because of his skill set. The current league doesn’t bench its stars even when they should. It’s all about the cash and they know an elimination game without Kucherov won’t draw as well on TV. They want to stretch out that narrative as far as they can and one game helps them do that.

Wow does DeBrusk ever milk that. He waits for Chara to go right to the ref and as soon as the crowd clears he pops right up just fine, not a scratch on him. If that crosscheck really is hard to the chin/lower face, where’s the cut? No where.

Not that it matters. None of what we say matters. The league will throw the book at Kadri. Like I first said, really he should of done something that put DeBrusk out of the series given the punishment would of been similar either way.

I didn't watch the game, just that replay.
Chara could have destroyed Kadri there but he kept his cool for the good of his team and controlled his emotions. Kadri seems incapable of controlling his and it will cost Toronto.

The real victim was Marleau, he was the only player who could of been hurt on the play. If that was an old school stachion he would of been on a stretcher and DeBrusk absolutely wanted that.
