LA on no rest still outshot nucks, maybe JQ felt bad for 'em since it was their home opener and the whole zero cup deal.

So far (2 games) Quick has been terrible, no argument there. Hope he gets back to form.

.. and 40yr old P. Marleau helps SJ with 2 goals in 1st game back.

And fuck everyone else. First win of the season, and SJ is taking the cup. Let's get out parade floats!

I'm not a Wild fan at all but the officials have stolen two goals from the Wild in this game. I mean good on the Pens, they've played the Wild mentally like a fiddle, but the refs haven't looked good at all which somewhat ruins the game. Do the Pens always get calls like that in the regular season? I don't watch them enough to know if they tend to get calls their way.

    WAH

Wait no, I agree completely. I don’t think the Pens centers even got kicked out of a single faceoff. The ice felt very tilted

    :annoyed:

I'm entertaining a group of customers and they wanted to go. We have Vikings tickets tomorrow. Beautiful Arena btw. We were in the front few rows in section 216 and our seats were awesome for a last minute decision and only $75 a ticket.

I saw your picture as I was walking out of the stadium. I’m almost positive I was directly behind you guys lol

We were section 216, row 4.

You were. We were the group of 6 in row 3. That's hilarious. You should of said hi. Probably clicked when we were talking to the kid/parent beside us about where we were from when he asked?

It clicked as soon as I saw your picture and it looked like you took it from my seat haha and then now thinking back I noticed that you guys were basically the only group that didn’t all have some sort of Wild jersey or sweatshirt which would make sense.

You probably overheard me explaining the whole game to my fiancé who isn’t a hockey player

I think you were literally right behind me. I was seat 15 IIRC. Yeah I think I remember you explaining to her why Pittsburgh had two men in the box on the double minor with a coincidental called at the same time.

I was the one explaining to the guy beside me why the refs washed out those two goals. The first one was just horrible lazy positioning from the official which lead to an early whistle and the second, I cant really explain the second beyond the officials ruling somehow the minne player could of got out of the net and wasn't placed there by the Pens D. That's not what happened but I'm sure the officials chose to see it that way. That's a call the Toronto war room should make instead of two officials that have been cat called all night by the fans all night lol.

Also I don't think you can actually call a double minor for roughing in the NHL. You can call two roughing penalties on a player in two incidents, but not four for one incident. Maybe the announcer got that wrong but if the officials were trying to send a message they should of just let Dube get away with the stick work and given a single minor.

Yeah Dubnyk threw a few good right hands with the blocker on that play. I never totally figured out what exactly they ended up calling.

Yeah he lost it. The Penguins seemed to know they didn't have the skill to win easily that night so they agitated all over the place and the calls went their way so it worked out. Also 87 was unreal for the Pens as usual. He was everywhere for the first 40.
