My plastiderp was delivered. Got black and now I'm just waiting for the gunmetal and the glossifier. Not a real update but once I can warm up the outside of the truck in a shop I'll derp my badges

Gun metal plastidip came in today. Planning a mod day where I will get the badges black and the I'm thinking of doing about a 1" swath of the gun metal color across the front, leading edge of the hood to protect against stuff and also hide some chipped paint. Any opinions on that?

Trying to figure out what my next major mod will be. I'm thinking sliders, front bumper or a soft top. I've been looking at all three for a while now. For sliders I've been looking at BAMF, BruteForceFab, or any other company with a kick out. I have been comparing prices, reputation, and how many others are running them. For a bumper I'm pretty set on a CBI offroad Moab 1.0 bumper either prefabbed or a DIY kit but I have been considering others. Lastly, is the soft topper. Kinda looking at wanting a dry bed for hauling stuff and keeping stuff dry. What do you guys think? Which way should I go?

Well I've discovered why my truck was driving weird. Turns out my inner tie rod was broken. Another $300 dollars down the drain for parts labor and an alignment

How set are you on a soft top? I regularly see toppers on CL for cheap, that might be an option for you.

If you plan on doing any wheeling, sliders would be the most important thing. I love my BAMFs, worth the slightly higher price IMO. Get some sliders on that thing and I say you're more than ready for Moab! :D

Does this mean they are bad in any way? Or are you just saying they are tough?

    He's saying they're tough.

I have the Trail Gear ones and they're good for being on a budget. They've seen some abuse and held up well for me.

Sliders are definitely on my list. Could get them completed this semester possibly along with a bumper in my welding class. Our shop teacher is super cool when it comes to that stuff. He let my friend work on both his front and rear bumpers in that class. And I can't wait for Moab. Trying to decide if I want to go with my 4 wheel drive club on Easter or on Taco Takeover week in May/June:notsure:

Is a kick out worth it or are they more for aesthetics? I've heard of situations where they can be useful.

It's up to you but EJS is always really crowded. It's fun for watching the dumb people destroy their trucks but unless you pay the fees to the Red Rock Jeep Club, don't expect to get on the trails until like noon or 1 pm.

Back when I got my sliders kick-outs just kind of started to become a thing. Only one company made them and they were pretty expensive.

Honestly I know nothing about them and haven't had much personal experience seeing them in action so don't know what the pros/cons are. Mine are wide enough as it is.

I think last year we kinda stuck to the small sight seeing trails that weren't too tough for a stock tacoma and a stock Cherokee.
