    Now the fun starts....

As I said, the composite bed is cracked. It was rear ended. TW'er Robertocrister will be supplying his old composite bed from when he went Long Travel/4Link.

    Taking things off.

Also taped off for a High Clearance Rear cut.

And then a Cab N Chassis.

    Guess the bent bed bolt....

    So, gonna replace the bed.

Need to address the rear frame. I will be doing 1 of 2 things:

    1. I will try my luck at warranty frame replacement. Spotted a dealer with dozens of old frames in their back lot. It does have some rusting through spots beginning up near the muffler area. Worst they can say is nope, best case I get a new frame.

    2. If I can't get a new frame, it will be repaired, professionally. My wife's step brother is a welder/fabricator. I've talked to him already, shown him pics of the rear frame and he can fix it up.

The driver rear leaf spring(s) is(are) bent. Have the All Pro pack waiting to replace it.

Waited like 7/8 years to do this mod....

    More sticky bling bling

Levi (robertocrister) also has his old shackle flip kit from when he chopped off his frame. Going to take it off his hands.

Not sure what we're gonna get into when/if I have to actually fix the frame. See how reusable what I currently have is. Going to have the shackle flip kit as a back up. Also then be looking for a set of OE perches from someone having done a flip or hammer hanger type mod. More options makes life easier.

The spring perches are the concerning part of all this. I don't need the back of the frame to bust off or a perch to shear off in the middle of a trail.

Truck will be dropped off this coming Sunday to start getting repaired if I get a "No" from Toyota on Saturday.

Go the "No" I expected. Salty with the situation still however. Didn't bother to even look at the frame at all. Service Guy pulled up the vin and totally blew me off.

I've been looking at this pile of junk in my basement way to long. I should do something with it.

Attempt #1: Ends with failure. :(

    - Ubolt nuts are over-torqued. Impact wouldn't move them. 1/2" ratchet/breaker bar wouldn't move them.

    - Decide to try something up front since Ubolts are not cooperating. And then I don't have jack stands tall enough.

At 6:15 on a work night and 2 "ain't happening's", put the tools away and surrendered to the failure.

    I did. And don't.

The whole ordeal ended up being a "Oh really, it's gonna be like that huh" kind of adventure.

I also didn't have my sawzall. Been leaving my tools/bags in my work van. Will end up just cutting the Ubolts off.

    Sawzall. Much less sparky.

Got the All Pro leaf pack on yesterday afternoon. Had a great time. Haven't wrenched in nearing 3 years, felt good to get back into the modding. So much more enjoyable as a hobby. Haven't lost it, like riding a bike. No mishaps. No injuries. Plenty of safety breaks.

Looking forward to a new rear suspension. The rear kicked out hitting holes, bad.

Everything is/was finger tight for the evening. Need to install the Timbren Bumps and extended brake lines as well. Will lightly torque stuff down then set it on the springs and do a final torque.
