On the trans fluid topic...got off early yesterday so I got the chance to get an early start on my Saturday plans. Drained the old fluid out, 99.9% sure that someone used engine oil for trans fluid. Whatever it was, it was clearly not gear lube. Gear lube stinks, hard to mistake that stanky stuff. What drained out was very lightweight and clearly had zero whiff of gear lube to it. I'll be honest, I have no idea why I haven't checked it/changed it out until now.

Got started on the needle bearing replacement too. Down to having to get the old out, get new in and get it back together. Pretty standard topic other than having to beat the living hell out of the CV housing/shaft to get it released from the diff. Be real nice if this took care of the vibe-y issues I have up front. Truck is running and rolling great, other than a pretty good bounce/vibe from that DF.

Oil Change, Alignment, couple other little things and should make for a fun little Saturday of playing around but not getting into anything super major.

Ended up taking a lot longer than I ever thought, but front diff needle bearing is out, ECGS bushing is in, all back together and wheels are back on the ground. I didn't buy the puller so that made it a bit more interesting. With how much they want for one, what the tool is, and all the tools I have, I was like "eh, fugg it, I'm good". Main hold up was getting something setup that could actually handle the force, was honestly a bit more than I was really anticipating for a little ol' needle bushing. Once I had something actually solid, it pulled out. It's no wonder they give ya such a hunk of metal with the ECGS puller. Straight up, my first couple attempts I ended up bending my DIY bracing that is supposed to jack against the diff housing as I was trying to remove the needle bushing. Old is out, new is in, Job complete, thank god! Good news is that the CV as it enters the diff is A LOT less floppy. Very intrigued to get out and test drive it, really, really, hoping this took care of the vibe issues I was having, that CV had like 1" of up and down play in it, much better now!!!

Oil changed and new gear lube in the trans. Didn't get around to the alignment or messing with the flares, but those are much less pressing issues. Bushing was #1 priority. Get to alignment and flares Sunday afternoon.

Me thinks you misspelled something.

I forget what $ we signed up for, probably that. All that mattered in the long run was, I get my crap off Amazon quicker. That's the important part, cause who the F does like waiting? :D I mean, when I order my snatch strap, I don't need that shit for a month, but you damn straight I wanna get it and fuck with it and post it all over my build thread.

Lol. Not too many skeletons in that closet. Wife and a teenage ex are the only chickas for me. My affinity for a certain herb might pose a bigger problem than my sexual prowess, past and present.
