When working on my RCI skid install, I saw the shifter (?) hose/line dangling underneath. Luckily the exhaust didn't burn thru the hose though it burned the metal wrapped around it a bit. Got a nut to secure the bracket using the screw next to where it broke off.

Do I need to put sealant or something to cover the hole where it broke? What do y'all suggest to cover and seal the hole?

Is that exposed to the carpet in the cab, or is that another layer of metal?

That's a good question. I'll check ASAP when I get home. I sent a picture to my cousin (Toyota tech) and he says it's the carpet...

It does look like its into the cab. Possibly some of the factory foam stuff thats in certain areas.

IMO the best thing to patch it up would be 3M Seam Sealer. It could be a little messy though if that is the carpet. Maybe a small piece of sheet metal or plastic as backer plate, then seam sealer to seal it up

Thanks for the solid tip! I'll attempt this after work or sometime soon hopefully.

3M Strip caulk would work good to seal that hole too. Make a ball with it large enough to fill the hole and then flatten it out around it on the body with your fingers. It will stick to anything and will prob last the life of the truck. It may stick to the carpet a bit but it doesn't make a mess: just don't force in more than you need to.

Got around to working on this today due to rain the previous days. Not pretty, but it works. Cut a small piece of metal to cover the hole and spread the 3M Dynatron seam sealer over it. Wish they sold this stuff in small bottles.

Relocated the bracket over to the screw next to it using the nut that was on the bolt that broke off.

Thanks @SR-71A and @Williston for the help!

That looks like a good fix. Re: 3M Dynatron small bottles: Likewise on the 3M strip-caulk: It's a great product, but it only comes in a "Life Time Supply" sized box. lol

This is exactly what happened on my 2010. Seems common.

Had this happen too, but the bolt that would hold this on is broken off too. Nothing to re-attach the bracket to. Does anyone have any ideas as to what can he done?
