Have a 2010 trd sport 4x4 w 99,965 mi. Found a large rust hole in the frame (drivers side/below driver seat) today. Wondering if anyone else has had any success with saving it, or is it a lost cause. This truck has seen many cold nothern winters with salty roads. Any insight is appreciated.

Looks like it was coated with a rubberized undercoating like Ziebart? Lost cause because this isn't the only spot on the frame with severe rust - the cancer has already spread.

You have major frame rust damage. Based on that picture you are going to find a lot more rust damage. The integrity of the frame is compromised and that truck is dangerous to drive. I’d have it checked out by someone who knows what they are doing and go from there.

Walk away A hammer will find more.

Ahh, it's yours. Yes it's possible to repair but you'll need to go over the frame with a fine tooth comb first.

Meso spare fuse holder. Aluminum gas cap holder. Genuine Toyota bed lights. Bed molle racks. Ammo case storage under hood. In-bed spare tire. Automatic underhood lights. Gooey glurp on frame.
    Off topic, but still rust.

My late brother, living in the rust belt, had a 1985 Saab 96 that began to look like that. It was a unit body design, but he kept getting repair patches welded in. He really liked the car, and it was fun to drive. This went on for about a dozen years. One morning, he opened the door and he jumped into the seat. Then the seat fell through the floor. That was the end.

my cousin had a z24 beretta like that. loved the car, kept it going as long as possible. he went for new tires one day, and when they put it up on the lift to raise it up high enough to get the wheels off, the front sagged enough to break out the windshield.
