Hollister April 22 caravan - Contra Costa

Just starting this so it won't clutter the main thread and for ease of info.

Need a meeting place/time and list of people who will be there. Please exchange phone numbers via PM so as to keep contact because nobody will be left behind.

For the contra costa people:
Meeting at WC bart (200 Ygnacio Valley). We will be leaving at 7:00 (meet at bart early) to head to Union City.

takes about 40 minutes to drive, so we will be arriving at WalMart (30600 Dyer St.) around ~7:40.

The entire East bay meet spot is at WalMart (30600 Dyer St.) so people should plan to meet there BEFORE 8:00 <----- thats when we will leave to go to the Hollister Safeway (591 Tres Pinos Rd.)

Drive is aprox. ~1 hour 30 mins. We will get to safeway close to 9:30 to get last minute supplies and food and caravan to the Hollister entrance.

If other caravans want to meet along the way the Highways of use are going to be I-880S and US-101S. In the past these caravans have been able to aproximate the arival of the east bay caravan at certain on ramps of the highway and jump on and join the main caravan. (having phone numbers to contact and keep track of the other groups helps to give a heads up on how close they are to get a rolling start)

Should probablly post meeting places, and times of departure, and what highways were taking so people can estimate what time we'll be passing and do the ole 45mph on the highway trick and then

 

I was hoping that you can figure a meeting place and what routes we'll take and I'll update the first post. You're good at things like that. Oh and I need to tell my friends where to meet so that would be nice.

I will probably go to Chris' house first and leave my truck there.

 

haha ohh okay. well ill get on that at work later tonight. Ill find the routes and meeting spots and time estimates.

I believe they said to meet at the park at 10am. I'll probably have my friends meet Chris and me and that Safeway on Willow Pass Road (gotta get our Starbucks!) and follow us to Bart so they won't get confused about what part of the Bart lot to meet at.

Yeah tonight if I have time between cleaning and working out, ill get a pretty good convoy plan going as best as I can and people can modify it if needed.

??? We are probably going to the Safeway by his house to get coffee at Starbucks and then go to meet you guys at Bart. This way, my friends won't have to go to Chris' house - there's no room to park the trucks on the busy street.

my truck is a stock 2011 trd 4x4 will i be ok as far once we get to hollister for goin thru the trails ? in the future i have alot i want to do it soon but on a budget so if anyone has anything used for sale in bay area pm me by the way

 

Hey Jake welcome to TW. You'll be fine with a stock 4x4. you wont be able to do everything, but there's bypasses for you to get around. oh, and stock 4x4 can make it up to the very top, so you're good.

 

8:30? Why so late we are not going to make it to the park by 10:00 if we meet that late.
