I am thinking about joining. What are the trails like? I'm still stock so I don't want to break shit yet, but I want to try out the MTS and see what it can do.

 

I ran just about everthing except the gnarly rock crawler stuff in my truck when it was stock except for stock size mud terrains. There's couple parts that if you don't have at least an all terrain tire, you might have some trouble on, but an 4x4 with an All Terrain or better can rock Hollister.

 

Cool! I have never been there. I'm assuming there is an old thread in TW with a bunch of info so someone doesn't have to retype it? The one other thing is.... are the trails short / you can bypass around them? Or are they actual trials that take you miles?

 

There might be an old thread on it, not sure.

Uhhhhm I mean most of the trails can be done within an hour, but they are all intertwined and the final loop up to the look out point takes a bit longer. The loop I usually take will have us on trail for a good 3-4 hours or so. We mostly go slow to keep the group together and there's a couple spots you want to go super slow on. There's also a couple spots that are pretty intimidating I you're new to 4x4ing, my first time I skipped them and took the bypass, which can add another 15-20 minutes to your trail time. Most of those if you don't want to go up the black diamonds, you can take the bypass and we'll wait for you at the top, no judgement lol. Like I said though, a good all terrain and 4LO is your friend, just keep your momentum and try to pick a line that won't put you in a rut.

 

Shit. I think I have military drill the 5th-8th in January. This will be my second to last one though as I get out February. Thank god. Hopefully things will finally go back to normality in the next two and a half weeks. Shit's been ridiculous since November.

 

Okay cool. Yeah I mean I had a 2nd gen a few years ago so I have done it before, but since the truck is so new I have no problem playing the bitch card and taking the easy route lol. But I would like to see what it is like.

 

Maybe. My truck may or may not have a bed on it at that time... Or a camper. Sounds like a good time. If everything is still intact then, I may come down on Saturday and camp that night.

Sorry man. You guys pick the worst times to go wheeling. After February I'll be in much better shape to go wheeling. Maybe my dog won't be in dying condition either.
