MSRP for Tacoma‘s was high when it was released during the last administration.

Ummm, yea due to supply chain issues caused by poorly controlled pandemic response and no don't forget the chip shortage...
So it only makes sense NOW after those items have been addressed to tack on another 10-15-25% ... did I get that right?

Glad my 2021 was paid off a little early... and glad my daughter picked up a 2025 Crosstrek before the $750-$2,000 increase
per press release by Subaru due to the 'T' word.

Toyota advises a cost of 1.3 billion in just 2 months.
GM advises at least 4 billion.

Wonder who will pay those prices - I suspect sales across the board will go way down...

When the dust settles perhaps some really good deals will be available -

Per google: 2023 MSRP for a pro 48K, 2024 Pro 65K. This was before any tariffs were implemented…

    Road & Track mentions a $15865 increase to the 2024's 65395 MSRP.

They also note there's been a couple changes.

... but the thing to also remember is that trucks like the Pro and Trailhunter aren't priced based on the cost to build. They're priced based on what Toyota feels people will buy it for - or at least enough people to achieve their sales goals. Given the propensity of dealers to mark up such "halo" models, perhaps Toyota decided to get a piece of the action.

    Worth a read.

My point exactly. Tariffs didn’t cause the price increase, Toyota did. For that kind of money I would rather a luxury vehicle.

    Or 2 Crosstreks - or 2 Camry's -

I'm a poor bloke and had kittens when my OTDoor price on my 2021 was like $35 tag/tax/title....
But I slapped a monster down payment on it and had just over $300 payments and paid it off early.

There are folks out there spending $700+ for 60+ months on their vehicles - man I just can't see it....
Not working anymore has a lot to do with it.

My first Toyota Pickup Truck back in '92 ( that's 1992 not 1892 ) was $6,700 out the door.
Payments were like $167.00 a month for 48 months LOL... I think it's probably still on the road too.

Had to check the title of this thread. Between the og "4g Tacoma 2024+", impressed with the 4g", "How's the Hybrid holding up", etc, I wanted to make sure I was in the correct 4g hate thread.

    1. Tacomas are expensive. Yup, so is just about everything. Don't like that, then buy something else (which won't be as nice because everything is expensive).
    2. Tacoma build quality is cheap. Does it look/feel cheap or is it so inferior it prematurely fails? It's been my experience that Toyota's show less wear than the competition after 5/10/15 years. Based on what mine looks/feels like now, I don't see that changing.
    3. If you're not a 4g owner, and you're here seeing what kind of issues the new gen may have or have questions about features or performance that's fine. Posting that you don't like the 4g because fill in the blank doesn't help forum users that are actually looking for info from actual user/owners.

And America was the only one handling it wrong, and there were no worldwide shortages of anything just in this country? 10 to 20% seems cheap compared to the increase in my grocery bill.

And yet when I look at the online inventory with a 500 mile radius for a double cab long bed Sport with the premium package I can't find a single one of ANY color. LOL.

I noticed the lack of longbeds earlier this week! I was checking RAV4 Hybrid inventories and they’re bloated now. XSE Cavalry Blue with Advanced used to be unavailable. Now there are 15 within a 4 hour drive (rural bumfuck America).

Understandable.......It's a completely new platform with significantly more tech and--singling out the Pro and Trailhunter--much more unique vehicles when looked at in the Tacoma hierarchy while also being fully loaded with every available option........

3g pro is most accurately compared to a 4g OR-premium. The whole truck changed. Comparing by trim name alone doesn’t quite do it.

No the entire world was in a bad place, and the US did a pretty good job leading the way out but I would have
treated it like a war - a war on the virus - hopefully the world will be better prepared for what comes next. Most
likely I'll already be mingling with the stars anyway.

It's what happens when they stack em deep, builds em cheap and tries to sell tiny trucks for 60k. Only reason we bought the 3rd gen is because we couldn't afford the tundra. Now we can't afford Tacoma or tundra so Toyota Maverick here we come I guess. USA don't want you in big trucks anymore so tiny truck nation here we come.

Tacoma is now a luxury pickup no longer for middle class. It's a doctor lawyers truck now. The Lexus tundra price has completely left planet earth so not even discussing that

What are you talking about? You are aware you can get a new TRD Off Road or TRD Sport for around $20,000 less than your quoted price--correct? If you want the halo model, you are going to have to break out your checkbook. That is the same as it is with EVERY manufacturer. Painting with a broad brush by labelling all Tacomas as "tiny trucks for $60k" is just ignorance.......

He's a known 4G hater. It's like the YouTube commenters, who can afford a $65,000 truck! When they know that the SR starts in the low $30's still.
