Yea I don’t have any data but I have seen A LOT of 2024s unsold when browsing online. The moment any tariffs make their way into the price I think the sales would come to a halt.

He may have been upset that I clearly wasn’t going to buy, I don’t have data but it’s easier to find a Toyota truck on any of the dealer lots around me than any other of their cars. I’m just irritated that Toyota wants you to step all the way up to a premium TRD model in the 4Runner to get heated power seats. That’s 10,000 dollars more than the base SR5!!

Good to see the same people who were hating on Gen4 a year ago when sales were low b/c low inventories have returned to now complain about “seeing” too many trucks being on their local dealer lots. I think a lot of those folks have selectively forgotten the “I just paid over sticker for my Gen3” days of 2022-2023, but welcome back.

Sales are as good as they’ve ever been b/c the vehicle itself is better than it’s ever been. Toyota is intentionally goosing inventories, so you can take full advantage, or just keep coming back here to crap on it.

Data is what some of us seek, and it takes away the fun for others.

A guy I work with as a volunteering leader has been in sales for many years. He supports my observation where a lot of vehicles are back to pre-pandemic inventories. A salesperson from where we did not buy last year left a message saying they're purposely building and have inventory. I see their lot has rows of Tacomas which is like many years of driving by there.

I also think "so what". Last summer it was pretty hard for me to find both the right long bed and a bargain. Today it would be more like history.

Can someone please explain to me why my 23 Sr four-wheel drive has a steel front skid plate and the 25 TRD off-road 4x4 has a cardboard skid plate in the front?

For me that skid plate is one of the biggest red flags glaring that Toyota has its mind in the wrong place right now

Unless you ordered the TRD skid plate, your sr came with a stamped steel beauty cover suitable for use on a Camry. Do us all a favor and go away. I’m glad you think your poverty spec Tacoma is better than mine, but I don’t really care

If he has a 4G he should be entitled to his opinion of his truck and if Toyota should improve that trim level.

Exactly if a skid plate was such an important part he wouldn't have bought an SR with zero off road equipment to begin with, you don't need a skid plate for the mall!

I remember when my friend bought his 18 sr v6 4x4. No intermittent wipers or keyless entry, but boy was he proud of that stamped steel “skid” plate.

First you made the claim that new Tacomas were "tiny trucks for $60k". Now you're claiming that Toyota is delivering trucks with "cardboard" skid plates. Are you capable of making any claim that actually makes sense?

BTW--That was a rhetorical question. The answer is obvious.........

Pretending that the stock steel debris deflector plate is a “skid plate” is hilarious. My 99 had one, and it served no skid plate function.

He's on a incoherent merry-go-round of gripes. As soon as his "point" gets rebutted he just jumps to the next thing. Round and round we go..

Yes zero is correct, my '08 Tundra bounced up on a trail and came down on it slightly, bent it so bad I had to cut it off since I couldn't get to the bolts. I've run TRD Pro or RCI's ever since.
