Well I just finished putting ~2" lift on my 4cyl AC and got around to installing the new UCAs. I should have paid closer attention to the numbers on the instructions, because I ended up with a little (or lot) more caster than I was anticipating. With stock UCAs and about 1/2" less lift, my before caster was 1.0 and 1.2. When I put on the LR UCAs, I adjusted the LCA cams to push the bottom of the spindle as far forward as possible. I then put the UCA caster setting to C, or +3 from stock. So I shouldn't have been surprised when I saw the following:

Haven't been at highway speeds yet, but seems stable on straight stretches. I have certainly noticed a heavier steering wheel while turning. I'm going to drive it a while and see how it does, but my initial thoughts are to bring the upper adjustment to position C (standard, or +2), and bring the lower spindle rearward via the LCA cams. I wouldn't mind having my wheel just a little further back in the wheel well anyway, as it is close to rubbing on the front fender.

    Couple questions:
Can too much caster cause excessive wear on inside and outside edges of tire (due to increased camber while cornering)?
Is the increased input requirement to turn the wheels hard on the power steering system?

I hadn't really thought about the possibility of adding too much caster since most stories you hear about are of people with too little. Moral of the story...you can.

    Thanks,
    Josh

Video I saw on the install said to use the +2/to start. Haven't purchased yet though.

Caster does not affect tire wear, that will be toe, camber and over/under inflation of tire.

Caster only affects stability and steering wheel returnability to center.

Mine is at 4.0 and 4.1 and I like the way it drives. Have OME with 884's on access cab.

Yessir, that was my reaction too when they showed me the computer screen. But I guess it makes sense when I do the math. I started at 1, added 3 via the upper adjustment on the uca, and then probably added a couple degrees on the bottom when I adjusted the lca all the way forward with the cams. Oh well, I may just drive it for a while and see how it feels.
    Thanks for the replies guys.

Can you get a picture of how it sits with that much caster? Or is it something that can't be seen?
