Holy Jim Trail

I live just down the street from there. Truly the nearest 4x4 trail to most of OC and it makes for a quick 4x4 after-work run. If you get off the packed roads and drive around in the creek, you'll get into some easy rock gardens. Pretty forgiving terrain us beginners out there could have some fun in an you can always cruise up the holy jim truck trail (to the left of the paved road just passed the little hobby plane airport). It's a fun little night run too! lots of tacos out there. Wait for a decent rain though! bought my truck right as a storm was comin in made for a great afternoon.

i'll head up there as i get off shift. i work pretty much at the 22 and grand so trailhead by 0815 for me

Its raining Down here Now

 

Think I'll be out there for a few hours. I was just at John Wayne it's pouring all through OC

Went there last time a couple of days after it snowed. It was pretty amazing. Never seen snow like that before in OC. Lot of fun playing in the mud puddles too. but the aftermath once you open your hood is horrific. after all that dirty was under my truck I installed my lift. LOL pain to work in with dirt falling everywhere.

How far up does that side trail across from the hobby plane runway go? I took it up just to where you can see a neighborhood and turned around last time.

 

It runs for a while and then gets waaaaaaay too narrow to negotiate. It thins down to a mountain bike trail that runs out to mojeska canyon. Before the fires a few years back, it was wide enough to thread through. I've always wanted to go up as far as I could take it but never had the time

 

I see. I was hoping that it would lead all the way up to Mojeska peak.

 

I Might be going up today around 4-5 and checking it out. hopefully there some good mud puddles.
