This is another one of those Please Help Me, I will provide as little information as possible.

Here is what I have detected, possibly....

Tile ? Maybe, but it could be wall paper.
"the upstairs part that sticks out" must be a second floor cantilever.

End of speculation until more info is leaked.

op a picture of the crack from maybe 15 feet away showing where it is in relation to other things would help.

First photo is the corner. Second photo is showing "how far it sticks out" the corner shown indoors is actually on the other side of the house and it is the outer edge of the house.

Sorry bought my first post being so short. I nearly flipped shit. I just had some gutter guys mount gutters to my new trim board so that weight may have done it? I was here tho and hey weren't like doing jumping jacks or anything out of the ordinary on my roof.I was also working up there this summer and it hadn't appeared yet then.

No that's on the garage which is a completely separate roof and series of trusses.

Im thinking the inside corner where the 2 walls meet, not the ceiling.

Hard to tell from the pic , but it seems like there is no corner tape on the drywall . That would make it fairly succeptable to cracking from movement , that's why I was thinking about your utility connection .

Previous owner may have just covered up the existing crack(s) quickly/incorrectly before selling the house. And recent activities on the roof may have caused them to reaper.
