^^Unit 1 goes down Oct 31st. They are also having issues with Unit 2, which will come down sometime within the next few weeks.^^

I have seen a few nice Tacos come through here recently, and it is funny how they gravitate towars each other in the parking lot, lol.

Today I had a chance to do some more work on my Satoshi project. It is not fully complete yet, but I did put it on the truck to see how it will look.

I have never really done any fiberglass or bondo work so this was all new to me.

I had the powder coating done in white, which I wasn't really sure I would like, but it turned out very nice. I still have to add the triangles in, and do some other little touch up work. I will probably end up doing this over again, since I have another Grille assembly and mesh insert. For the first go round it's not bad, but I believe it could look a little better.

Who drives the Pyrite Mica Tacoma with the softopper and RTT? I seen it one day while hanging out at Goober's. I'm working 5 to 5 on day shift, with PM2.

Single or double cab? I have seen one of each. Don't know who drives either one of them. There is also a silver dclb with an allpro bumper. I would steer clear of that one. If you see it, take a look at the suspension setup.

I think it was a double cab. I've always seen it with a softopper and a rack that fits over the topper. Whats the deal with the silver one..lol.

I started with 885's, when the plate bumper went on I had to step up to 886's. I also have the top plate spacers installed.

    Looks great!

I just purchased white 2010 double cab and I'm planning to make it a super trooper mod.

Since I'm new, could you help me out with a few questions.

    Wheels:
I want to do 18", but I hear a lot about rubbing issues anything over 17"
Do you have any issues with your setup? 285/65R18 Nitto Trail Grapplers on 18"x9" XD Monsters

    Lift
I'm planning to do either a Pelfreybilt or Road Armor with a built in winch.

With all that additional weight, which shocks and coils should I go with:

    a) "TOYTEC ULTIMATE LIFT KIT '05+ TACOMA" with the Bilstein 5100s
    http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/Toytec-Ultimate-Lift-Kit-05-Tacoma_p_1062.html

    or

    b) "OME TACOMA SUSPENSION LIFT KIT"
Front Shock: 90000, 885 Coils (do I need the 886 coils?)
    http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/OME-Tacoma-Suspension-lift-kit_p_231.html

    Thank you!

As far as the lift goes, it all depends on what your needs are, and how you plan to use it.

I put the OME kit on. First with 885 coils, then when I put the plate bumper on, I bumped up to 886. Driving on road with the OME kit is far superior to the stock ride. Off road I have no complaints either (other than I need to replace my rear shocks with extended ones because I added a shackle flip to my rear springs).

Wheels will not cause any kind of rubbing on the body, that will come from tire size. Just be sure you do your homework on the wheels as far as backspacing and offset. I switched my wheels up a couple weeks ago. I went from an 18" back down to a 17". More tire options with a 17" than 18". Plus, more meat on the tire is better.

    Thanks for the tips!

I'll be doing most city driving and mid level off roading in the weekends (not planning on getting crazy, but some challenging courses).

With that a smooth ride in the city with a perfect alignment is super important.

I'm going to plan on getting the OME with the 886 if I go with a steel bumper. If I go aluminum, I will probably go with the 885.

Thanks for the tips on the wheels!! I'll stick with 17".

Tons of info on here about retro fitting lights. There are even a bunch of members here that will even do a set for you.

The HID kits can be purchased from TRS (The Retrofit Source). I believe they have an on-going group buy for TW members.

Bob, Nice build! Did you ever get around to replacing your shocks with longer ones to compensate for the shackle flip kit you installed? Did you use limit straps in the interim? Just wondering. Thanks!

Crom: No. I have not replaced the rear shocks yet, or put in the extended brake lines that I have had since I installed the lift. I have not had any problems yet with it. I also have too many projects going on right now with the 81/83' trucks sitting in my driveway.

Pheonix: I have no idea how you missed it, but you found it now.
