    @OZ-T

What are your thoughts on spray foam vs Kraft insulation?

    Just a question.

2lb foam is more efficient as an air and vapour seal but more money

I was leaning towards Kraft (for cost) until I just received an outstanding bid on foam. Yes, it is more, but in the big picture I believe it would be better. He also said he'd be in and out in a day, completed.

I can crack open the service panels if you'd like, but I think you know what's in there.........more wires, just a good bit bigger.

Just going back through my thread and this caught my attention.

I am required to have 2, 1/2"x8' ground rods. No less than 6' apart, drove 8' deep at least 24" from the exterior wall tied to the main service entrance panel.

    Good question

3.5" in the walls and 5.5" in the roof.

Tomorrow is a big day. Well, this weekend should be big. Insulation day tomorrow :bananadance::muscleflexing::woot::yay::drunk:. I went with the spray foam. Couldn't pass it up.

Siding guys are cruising. Looks good. I wish I could have done it like I wanted too, I just don't have the time (my wife says I hate having other people working on the house. She is right). They should have about three days left. Weather isn't cooperating so it may go into next week.

I received the metal for the front roofs on Tuesday. Maybe I can get that this weekend. I am going to try and do it while the insulators are here.

Fireplace will be here (should be here) Monday. If I can get that in and inspected and the the insulation done and inspected, I could possibly have drywall at least delivered next week.

I'm strung out, stressed, excited, tired, and all sorts of other things. Starting to really take shape.

I also have to form the porches and garage slabs, deck footings....and too much else to list.

The power hook up should be within the week as well, but then again, they are behind because of this weather.

    Today was crazy.

    Siding guys cruised:
image.jpg One side left, that they are almost done with.

Now for the fun part. Insulators didn't show up till around 10:30. I could hear them at the end of the driveway. About 20 minutes later a guy come up the drive and says, "we can't get the truck up the driveway, we'll prep the site and come back tomorrow with a smaller truck".
That's when their bossman called me. He said "don't you have a bunch of 2x10's over there"? (He saw them on the walk down when he did the estimate).
"Let's build a ramp and get that truck in there today".

I loaded up the skid steer with some lumber and headed down to the road.
    image.jpg

The fuel tank for the truck was scraping the ground when they tried to get the truck in. We had to scotch up the front to get it over the hump.

    Success

    image.jpg
    image.jpgimage.jpg

They left around 8:30, I just got home.

This is going to be great. So glad I did the foam.

Not sure what you mean by 1lb.

The product is Classic Max foam, open cell Icynene.
