Here is a clever little cheat I've been doing for years, thought I would share. Not sure if anyone else does this.

I pull the sticker off the tape measure and use it as a note pad for measurements.

Haven't peeled the sticker off but I've used these on every new tape for years, love em...

Not always easy loading a trailer with high fenders with a fork lift, when the material is in boxes on pallets.

Thank you for the vid. This trailer rides spectacular. Usually totes a skid steer.

I did want to move the front pallets back towards the fenders a little, but it was absolutely pouring rain and I wanted to get out of there. Didn't have to go but about 20 miles. No major roads, minimal traffic, 40 mph max.

Not nearly enough done for working on it most of the day. It has been about 10 years since I have done stone like this though. The mixer I have is terrible. Mine broke, so I borrowed one from a buddy of mine. Plus my wife had to pick out the hardest stone to lay. It is a mix of ledge stone and limestone. It looks good, just takes forever to figure out, and I don't have a place to lay out on the ground first. It's a muddy mess over here. I'm also working out of the bin.

My brother is supposed to come help me in a few days, so hopefully we can finish up soon.

Slowly getting one side done. Hard to move fast, when I can really only work for a few hours on it a day.

I still have to set the piers for the front porch posts and stone around the foundation bottom.

    Another day.

The wall looks great. Is there grout? And how do you finish of the bottom?

As my son likes to say, "you got some skillzzzzs man"

No grout, it's dry stacked. As for the bottom, I will backfill up to it. I may add a few courses in before I do that, waiting to see where the porch lines up.

My brother came down today and we rocked the other wall. It was very productive having another body there:
    image.jpg

I wouldn't even be close to that had I been working alone.

While I was cleaning up after everyone had left, I found a little surprise (about a 6' surprise!):
    image.jpg
    image.jpg

This guy was about halfway up the wall. My second encounter with this same snake. If I'm going to let him live (which I am) we are going to have to sit down and lay out some ground rules.

Black rat snake. Non-venomous. Good to have around for pest control. Still freaky though. He's okay, we just need to come to an agreement.
