You got some  from me, I thoroughly enjoy projects like this.
When I was a young kid (12-14 years ago) my family built an airplane hanger in fort worth Tx, in 2006 we rebuilt our house on the Ms gulf coast after hurricane katrina, we've remodeled 2 of the houses we lived in while in Cali, and now that my pops is "retired" he wants to build a house and shop out of the flood zone on the Ms gulf coast.

PT plates. The white wood is cut for the top plates. All the PT plates are down and fastened. I'm laying out the walls and transferring marks to the top plates.

All I have for now. I've been here working since 06:00. Ready for a cold shower and soft bed. Back at it in the morning.

This is a lot like how my uncle built his house. He built the shop/RV garage first, then lived in the RV in the shop while he built the house.

All the walls should be up tomorrow.

Another 14hr day at the lot. Time for a shower, a bite to eat, and bed. We are starting early tomorrow so we can get finished.

Today was a great day. We got a lot done, hopefully I should be starting the roof mid next week. I have 4 more walls to stand up and a little more framing to do on top, but all is going smooth right now. This is the living room, will pretty much be the focal point for the house:image.jpg image.jpg
There will be a French door in the middle with stationary doors on each side. Above the doors will be transom windows, so this wall will pretty much be all glass. 11' ceilings in this room. image.jpg image.jpg

Tomorrow I should have all the walls on the main house stood up and finished.

Are you using trusses or stick framing the roof ?

    No doubt.

Trusses would be more of a pain I believe. And I am not really a fan of them anyway.

Getting them on the roof where they need to go would be tough here. With all the tree coverage the crane would have a hard time.
