No slab here, but I heard it for the first time on a slab and bought it because of that experience. Over Christmas a buddy showed me his home theater on which he'd just spent 35 grand and lots of his own effort. The room sounds amazing & at some point I asked him about the sub, which was really making me smile. He walked me over to the corner and showed me a sub just like mine

 

No clue on the entire product line but the subs I'm looking at say have the famed China sticker.

Yeah, I don't know what's going on with them now. Audio companies get bought & sold all the time and quality can change dramatically or not at all when that happens. I've not heard of this happening with Klipsch, but it's happened to most mobile audio companies at some point...hard to keep up with it all.

 

On January 6, 2011, Audiovox announced that the company had signed a "term sheet to purchase all the shares of Klipsch Group Inc".[1] The sale was completed March 1, 2011.[2]

 

I ordered one of these BIC-America F12 Subs. Supposed to be like Klipsche but cheaper. In fact I think they got sued for making the woofer cone copper in color at one point.

I think it will rock.

My Klipsch stuff was made in China too , I looked it up , apparently all their stuff except their highest line has been made in China since prior to 2000

Still sounds awesome

 

I'll check my sub when i get home and take some pictures.

 

$220...I think I'll wait until you can provide some feedback & maybe pocket some of the dough I had budgeted.

 

I've been happy with my Sunfire HRS. Great muti-purpose sub but best suited for music.

Here's pictures of my Heresy's and my KSW-12 sub. On the backs they both have placards with hand written signatures of those who built/inspected the pieces. All were made in the USA in Hope, Arkansas.

My Sony receiver is model STR-K750P.
