Primary, A DOG. 99% of people won't come into a place with a big barking dog. They also know when someone shouldnt be there and will lay down thier lives to defend the family. Cant beat them.

Exactly!!! I couldn't agree more.. I love my dog and would never try to put her in harms way but if I could gain the tactical advantage over the intruder by using her I will.. I will be right behind her on a get em call with my G19 and 3 mags.. She's quick and a dark brindle so IMO it would be hard for someone to shoot here at night.. She doesn't stay in one spot and constantly moves to keep the target on their toes..

Shotgun is probably best for home defense weapons, but my .45 1911 stays on my nightstand.

12 gauge short barrel shotgun and a faithful mut. Nothing chills the blood faster than the mechanical motion of a shotgun being loaded. That's assuming the dog didn't get them first.

I'm with Country 101. I have a shotty but the .45 is slightly more accessible. My handgun is my "get to the shotgun" weapon.

Mossberg 500. With some bird shot for the first couple. Then some home defense rounds with 0/0 buck surrounded by #4 buck just incase walls need penetration
