I purchased a 27ft pool off craigslist for $500. A few replacement parts off Amazon, and am putting it up with help from friends to save money. So far about $1,100 into a pool setup that cost my friends around $6,000 to do.

No lights or electric outlets on that side of the house so we haven't used the deck at night since we bought the house. A set of truck underbody LED tubes, car battery, and solar charge kit light it up enough to use without attracting bugs or blinding us. Plus I can change the colors to amuse the kids. Or adults while we're drinking. lol

I worked on a framing crew when i was your age. I wish I had stuck with it as a profession. I would be in much better physical shape..lol. What a great job looking back, at the time it was brutal work. Sunrise to sunset 7 days a week. The cool thing was, boss sent me for a 12 pack every day at 11:00AM, which kept us motivated.

I'd love to spray foam my basement, but the cheapest I've seen it is $600/kit and I'd need several kits. Weatherization company went through at least 2 just covering the outside joist/foundation joint, and a couple small attic walls.

one way you can try to get it a lil cheaper is to see if any of your neighbors want to get their basement done too. the insulation company's we deal with give a good discount if they can do more then one house in a close area

Maybe. I was looking at buying the kit online and do it myself. The kits alone were $600 and up for the 2-20lb propane tank-like kits.

We just had a company spray foam the basement of the house I'm building with 2 lb foam .

    Awesome .

I used styrofoam sheets and batt insulation in my own house

My wife and I are putting the finishing touches on our kitchen. We did all of the work ourselves except for the counter top which was done by Home Depot. We pulled the old doors and drawers off, sanded them down and stained them. We painted the wall a darker green. Replaced the ugly florescent light (not shown), and put the tile and trim pieces on the walls (18" tile). This was our first time attempting something like this.

    Here are some before shots:

not today but last saturday and sunday me and my dad rewired the whole basement, put new subfloor down in the main area, made the stairs accessible for normal people, not midgets. Then finally put poly on and insulated. A good two days work. Starting drywall monday i hope.

nope. over the pre-existing subfloor. a few places it was rotten. leaking freezer they moved around so we cut out some spots. put some treated 2x4s on the concrete and went over everything. i didnt want to rip it all out.
