Yeah I agree, it's a big ask. The customer service rep I spoke with said the crews can usually do 20-25 windows in a day, so I was like "uh why did you schedule 17 in 3 hours then?"

If they had let us know it would take multiple days it would've been fine.

The 3 windows is definitely the bigger issue since I already know that's going to take 2-3 weeks for the windows to come in, then who knows how long for them to schedule us.

Is it possible to buy "off cuts" of drywall? Previous owners of my house cut out a 24x30" section of drywall in a bathroom- and hung up a medicine cabinet to hide it. I have no real use for a whole sheet of it. Figured I'd ask here.

Go find a construction site that is doing drywall and ask them for a scrap piece.

You said the magic word. Salesman. They ate only concerned about their commission the customer is at the bottom of their list.
They fear that telling the truth will give their competitors an edge. The last company I worked for (they bought my employer). Lied to the newly acquired employees multiple times in our first meeting. Their whole sales campaign was based on deceit.

I haven't found any that were hanging drywall at the time yet.
I'll try the orange box. Blue box shut me down.

We’ve got a few used building material outfits here. Habitat for Humanity is one of ‘em. Picked up some really good quality windows ‘n Doors there. Last time I was there, they had drywall too. Might try that.

will the project manager for Window World called and left a voicemail on my fiance's phone. he's going to look at the file and give us some sort of discount with the 3 windows that were wrong. at least it's something I guess.

I can't say I have a lot of confidence in this crew working. I keep hearing things like "did he bring me the wrong one?" "yep I think this will work"

    face palm.

First impressions are usually the correct ones. Ran off some basement contractors few years back. Tip off was an endless stream of rental Co.’s droppin’ off tools ‘n such. Asked one of the workers “if you’re in the biz., shouldn’t you own this stuff”. He said, “Naw, I just do this part time. I work at a pawn shop during the day”. See ya later pawn star.

Ok let me ask you guys some questions on these windows.

my house is 3 different materials these windows are sitting in.

bottom level is block/brick, mid level is all brick, and upper level is wood siding.

here are some photos of the windows sitting in the siding areas.

    77980707-3E9B-4379-8B9E-FF2EB7F5D0E1.jpg
    9012E0DE-1732-4D13-946D-1385B517F801.jpg

Those gaps are large enough my hands fits through, about 2” gaps.

here is what they put at the top:

    6D1AB075-B446-45EF-A6AC-E9376482F180.jpg

it’s like a 1/16” vinyl trim piece that sticks to the window. So the window is not centered between the window sills. Is this correct? They said they have to sit them out on the ledge to prevent sagging and water leakage in the bottom and then they put trim on top. The windows in the block and brick are better but still have just a slight trim maybe 3/4” instead of 2” tall on top of the windows.

it just seems like a massive massive gap to me above the windows...yes I know they foam behind in and put exterior trim on.

I’m no expert. Not by a long shot but I don’t like it. Keep in mind, I’m Canada tho where it’s Polar Cold 7+ months of the year. Maybe more regional guys with more experience could chime in. Just my $0.02.

so what the crew explained to me was this, I'm paraphrasing but it is all words they said:

since the house is different material, the windows have to sit out on their "ledge" and that's just how they sit on the wood siding. if they raised them up it would possibly make the windows sag, and allow water at the bottom.

they also said, when they call their shop/managers/whoever and explain to them the windows don't sit perfectly, that they are instructed to put them in, and put the trim up top and make it look as nice as possible.

what it sounds like to me, is that the sales rep who does all the measuring doesn't understand how the windows sit, and should've added some height to the windows in the wood siding area.

    This.

It certainly looks like the wrong size window for the opening which they cover with trim. I'm not saying they don't need the trim, they just shouldn't need 2" of it. The window should be 2" taller.
