Thanks! saved a little on granite doing it that way. I was worried that it wouldn't fit when I installed the vanity and countertop because I did all the trim prior (for various other reasons). My measure 42x install once tactic worked out. Had an 1/8" gap all the way across just as I planned.

Thanks. Doing the granite for the bench and curb also made install a lot easier and there's less grout to clean in the places that seem to breed the most mildew.

The door is actually made by kohler, it's their "levity" line. Surprisingly it was only $400.

A few months ago I picked up an epoxy kit for the garage floor and it didn't come with a sealant. Now that it's warmer out and have time I would like to put the sealant down. Problem is, since it wasn't sealed earlier (which I regret not doing) the floor is dirty and has track marks from moving furniture and dirty from high-traffic areas. Is there any way to clean that up before sealing it? Would a concrete etcher be too harsh on the existing coating?

I clean mine with a scrub brush and dawn dish soap, then squeegee it dry. It gets it pretty clean and shiny again. An ocello pad might get those furniture scuffs out. Maybe even try some TSP.

The epoxy coat is pretty durable, I've spilled all kinds of harsh chemicals on mine and it didn't damage it.

Pressure washer always works in our garage, we aren't getting ready to seal but or anything though. But it removes all dirt and anything else stuck in the concrete. Have to be careful though as it can chip concrete if you get it too close

Word. I'm just worried about messing up the paint and chips that are already down. I did everything before I moved into the house except for the sealant, the stuff that makes it oil resistant and glossy. Waited too long and now the floor is all dirty and scuffed. I'll try the soap and brush like mentioned earlier, if not then maybe try and lightly use a pressure washer in quick sweeping motions.

You'll be surprised at how clean it gets. Mine looks almost brand new again whenever I clean it. You may need to pre-treat heavily greased or oily spots with some purple power or equivalent degreaser first. You might lose a few chips that weren't imbedded in the epoxy well, but most will stay. I also use my electric pressure washer (1700 psi) with a 40* tip to pre and post rinse but I don't get super close.

Anyone know about building decks? My house is built from hollow concrete block, so I'm pretty sure I'm not supposed to attach the ledger board to it the way you would with a normal house. I'm assuming I'll have to build it as a free standing deck and maybe attach the ledger board to house anyway just for good measure? But atleast it won't actually have to support any weight that way.

    Any advise is appreciated.
