have wooden porch steps, stripped the paint off with a pressure washer last week. Advice on a good exterior floor paint that will hold up in the humid south? Was looking at SW Armorseal, any other suggestions?

Rained a shitload last saturday night. Woke up to the loudest thunder i have ever heard. 20 mins later, the "small" stream behind my house overflowed and ran into the back of my house. Lucky for me, the vents in my foundation acted as funnels and directed the water conveniently under my house into the crawl space. What a F'n mess under there. It lacked a good 1" from getting into my insulation. I was under there all day yesterday in the mud and all kinds of crap pulling out all that plastic vapor barrier. And to beat it all, my dryer vent had came loose under there and all that lint had collected under the house and was now soaking wet. And of course it was in every place I had to lay down. Itchy shit all over me.

    Ok, My bitching is over.

Been there done that....the 6 inch centipedes are interesting.....construction workers like to ditch all their lunch garbage there I also found....should be illegal. Consider putting a sump with pump under there.....I don't buy houses with crawl spaces anymore. After 55 years and a dozen homes later, I only buy houses with walkouts and basements with poured reinforced concrete walls......with sumps.

Well, I`ve been remodeling the basement for awhile now , making it look like the rest of the house , we live in a log home. So I finally got the downstairs stair well repaneled with pine 1" x6" tunge and groove end match blue stained pine and installed the log stairs . Has been alot of woork , but I`m almost totally done!!! Some before and after shoots. My wife and two kids helped me install the stairs they were very heavy. Enjoy!! [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Move into our place in '07, was a former rental unit in a condo complex. So far, I've remodeled both bathrooms, installed laminate flooring in the downstairs hall and living room, replaced 2 doors, removed the silly faux beams in the living room and patched the ceiling, and painted the living room and downstairs hall.

Next on the remodel list is the kitchen. I've been putting it off until I'm home from the project I'm on. We have the cabinets and flooring already. We're not replacing any of the appliances, just adding an over the stove microwave. We've decided on a paint color, and picked up the back splash tile. Still deciding on the countertop. We'll make a decision probably when the remodel starts.

We're doing it "on the cheap", not taking any loans to remodel, since I can do most of the work myself.

I got to use my new sliding mitre saw this weekend cutting some new baseboards. All total it was about 100 feet of baseboards around the living room, dining area and the hallway. Next project will be to add crown moulding. We also repainted the walls and ceiling. The walls are a darker beige than we had. We did the whole project in about 4 days.

    baseboards-3.jpg

    baseboards-4.jpg

Added some trim to the window bench I built. The wife is still working on the cushions for it. There's also some trim behind the cushions. We painted the wall metallic copper.
    baseboards-2.jpg

We did this wall about 6 months ago. It's metallic copper. There are 6" stripes on the wall. We mixed a small amount of metallic brown with some copper to darken it slightly.
