As long as your using dark stain you could try sawdust and carpenters glue.

Re-did the laundry room and pantry. Couple hundred bucks and a weekend.

Built a new mailbox post to replace my rotted one. It’s all treated wood, in 2’ of quick Crete. Hate that it’s stuck between all the neighbors who don’t give a shit about there mailboxes. I called usps and tried to see if I could move it since it’s 2 driveways down from my house but they said no.

Used the existing hole and dug it out a little. Other two are leaning and twisted anyways.

If it was actually in front of my house I wouldn’t have to worry about it being in the center of the other two..

We had those big communal mail boxes at my parents house, but it was in front of ours. My house now has it on the porch and I constantly debate on adding a mail slot to the house. (Our old house had one) but if I had to go down the street to get the mail.... I just wouldn’t. Maybe once a month with a trash bag. That’s a deal breaker for us, that and no HOA’s.

Sucks they wouldn’t let you move it.

    A thing or two...
We have the big communal boxes for my subdivision. It's 300-ish feet to the mailbox, and I only check it 1-2 times a month. If it was out front of the house, I'd check it more often.

When we first moved here, our mailbox was situated in front of the neighbor's house. My one neighbor, an old retired air force mechanic and a former township worker, moved his, so I moved mine to the end of my driveway - even though the USPS didn't want us to. Better to ask forgiveness than permission. The mail carrier at that time said nothing and so we had no issue. Then again, this was maybe 25 years ago, when everybody and every entity wasn't so up tight and threatening.

We have a similar setup on our road and I contemplated asking the homeowners about possibly pitching to build something sturdier and more eye appealing. There's only about 10-12 boxes but right just looks terrible

Yeah luckily there’s only 5 including mine. But there all falling over. Neighbors didn’t seem interested so I just rebuilt mine.

I have a feeling that's how it'll go here as well. I especially like the one box your neighbor has strapped to the other haha
