it is largely in the shade, with very little direct sunlight, if that helps. I know some grass types need full sun to grow, maybe that might narrow it down.

I know I’m late to the party, but I used Simpson Strong-tie screws. #9 x 1 1/2” on my deck to secure the joists hangers. They are about 10 cents each at Lowe’s. They worked great for me.

I don’t think its bermuda... at least doesn’t look like it to me. Looks more like a cool season grass, especially since he said its in a shaded area. Bermuda doesn’t tolerate shade well at all.

It kinda looks like a Fescue blend, but that's a guesstimate. I used to use Scotts weed and feed with good results when I had grass. Now I've got lotsa rocks and cacti. :tumbleweed:

I would over estimate how much you need. They seemed to get used rather fast. We used a DeWalt impact driver with great results. We used it so much that we had to let the batteries cool down before they would take a charge. Good luck.

I second the fescue blend hypothesis. I have the same type of blend myself, I usually go to the local sod store and pickup what ever fescue variety seed that they suggest. And weed killer will kill fescue pretty quickly. Hope that helps.

yea, looking at pictures and descriptions of conditions for grasses, it fescue is a good guess. I sprayed the weed killer in a small corner of the lawn, where the grass is a little overgrown, just to test if it would kill the lawn. We'll see in the next few days! As for the grass type, I'll take the photos to Home Depot and see what they say also, but I think we may in the right ball park with the fescue. Thanks guys!

it says it kills certain types of grass, and goes on to list a bunch of grasses. but I'm not a grass-ologist, so I don't know all the different types of grass. lol

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
Ask for an actual landscaper/gardener to come over for a consult. Ask them what you need, pay them $50 for a 30 minute consult and get the best advice in person you will get.

paying for a grass-ologist is a good idea. I often get so hung up on just handling things myself I don't consider that.

We're in California. We have MORE than enough landscapers and gardeners that know what they are doing out here. Shit, I think I have 50 landscape/gardening companies in my small town up here in NorCal.
