Its not that hard once you know what you are doing and get a feel for it. Just take your time and pay attention. Watch most of the videos and read what is on that web page and you should be good to go.

 

The one thing I learned that saved a TON of frustration - only knock down the high spots in between mud coats. I was always trying to sand the low spots out, but you will only end up killing yourself. Just take down and mud balls and pulls, then just do another coat to fill it all in.

 

Fixing the water issue in the basement with some perforated piping, stone and 3 more sump pumps.

 

This morning I read over this post totally randomly. Turns out I am a flooring contractor here in the Pacific Northwest and I had never heard of a company called Urban Floors. An hour later I got a phone call from one of my suppliers saying he's going to stop by my showroom with the Urban Floors sales rep. What a small world we live in! It sounds like you got yourself a nice product too.

 

We love it. We actually decided to pick up some more because of the sale price. We have two bedrooms and a laundry room that run adjacent to the hallway. We felt that it would be better to have the same hardwood throughout than to try an fit a different type in at a later date. Plus, there would be no transition pieces. So we went into the same store and ordered another 500 sq ft. It's a good thing we decided to get some more because according to our salesman, the Prairie Gold color is being discontinued (not a popular color I guess). We won't be installing it anytime soon as the wife wants to redo the rooms completely so we'll do that first before installing the floors.

It's the 5/8" fire resistant sheetrock (on the garage area ceiling) that may give me trouble ... .

I'm thinking of redoing my room this summer. Need to get rid of the paint, the ceiling needs repainted and patched, needs a new light fixture/fan, and the carpet from the 80s needs replaced. I'll also be replacing my bedroom furniture that is 20-30 years old.

I'm kinda looking for some ideas. This might not be the right place to ask but thought I'd give it a shot. I'm thinking a more modern design but the house is more Traditional style. Just dont want my room to be a sore spot for a future potential buyer since I know my parents want to sell at some point down the road.

Maybe someone in here can help me with this, I'm wanting to change up the lighting in my garage and have some questions on wattage. right now it has open rafters and the walls are covered in wood paneling (70's style), I have 4 florescents hanging from the rafters, I'm going to trade those out for 9 ceiling boxes and normal compact florescents. Garage is a 30ish by 20ish, and I'm thinking I'll paint the wood paneling white, given all of that, should I spring for 100 watt bulbs or will 60 be enough?

My last thought is to probably let a sheetrock pro do the garage and utility rooms (2,500 sq. ft of sheetrock) and me and my helper do the small jobs in the house.

Did you chose not to go with an interior dimpleboard sheet tied into your drains ?

 

I thought there was only on option.

 

All the interior weepers I've seen utilize a dimpleboard on the interior of the block that goes down into the drainrock of the weeper , the thinking is that any moisture making it's way through the block then also drains into the drain tile
