I guess I can post this here. It's not my house but it's my girlfriend's house. I've been helping and I have learned a lot from her dad.

Looks good. How long of a run is that? I'd like to do something similar behind my shop to get some usable space. If I build the retaining wall along my property line where the storm drain is, I could reclaim 30 ft or more. I'd probably have to run close to 100 feet of wall.

I've got some roof and attic work to do. But.....temps are pushing the 110*F heat index mark for the next week or more.

I just ain't got the inclination to crawl around plowing through 16" blown fibreglass insulation with attic temperatures well over the 120*F mark.

    So, I'm just chillin'.

Back to this, So i got another estimate for 250sqft area ($8.95sqft) to prep and install for $3,400. Had around the same price from another company i asked a month ago, a little cheaper. im not sure if thats expensive or not. I know things are more now a days but not sure if i should wait or not.

Looks nice and reclaims a bunch of yard.

Would definitely replant something with substantial roots on that slope to the stream or you may lose it over the years. You can see the opposite bank is already getting undermined, so would assume your side is as well. Also not sure where you're located, but if in a state with aggressive environmental regulation, you may want to throw some stabilization matting (ie curlex) the slope until vegetation retakes. Disturbing ground adjacent to a waterway can get dicey quickly in some places.

Appreciate it. And yes, there are plans to replant along that slope.

Just got done mowing the front yard in about 2-ish hours. Blew the grass clippings off the street, driveways, porch, and front walk. It's getting toasty out there, so I'll think about hitting the back this evening.

Yeah. I think the Control Room Engineer said it was 98 yesterday afternoon when we were in the bay testing some motors. I'm sure it wasn't much better in the morning when we were doing another test in a different bay.

So if you kill yellow jacket nest #6 during the day, where do the others go? Do they join another hive? I hate these damn things.

Yeah, you’re no help! I didn’t know if they would join another hive or die off!

im only messing obviously. how big are the hives? golf sized ones? I assume they just just build their own? Google it.
My buddy raises bees and he says some intruders get killed and some join in but thats in a whole colony not just a small lil hive

Just started a bathroom remodel. First real project in our new house.

We just bought an amazing century home but the previous owners went a little overboard with keeping things period-correct. We love the old stuff but want to add some modern touches so it's not overwhelmingly old looking. Every wall in the house is a beige-ish yellow colour. The bathroom is the same but with some darker wainscotting that just doesn't look good.

The vanity is ancient. The clawfoot tub is cool but I'm going to add a shower to it. Shower kit just arrived today. I've pulled the vanity out, we'll build a new one. The hutterite colony down the road does lots of countertops so we'll take some granite cut-offs from them for a new countertop.

I've repainted the whole thing. Just waiting on my wife to narrow down the colour for the wainscotting.

Should have the whole thing done next week.

I'll get some photos when I head back out there after the weekend.

While I'm "vacationing" (packing up my girlfriends apartment) in Brooklyn my neighbor is checking in on my tile guy's progress. As of Friday evening it appears to only be lacking grout! I should have a glass guy lined up already but this move has consumed way too much time & mental capacity.
