Got the switch put in for my new fart fan. Someone put a piece of wood above the bottom box so I couldnt add a switch in there unfortunately. Got a remodel box put in above the board and the romex run to it pretty easily. Got a 2 gang for just-in-case purposes.

Also, I was reminded today why I went into industrial wiring/controls over residential. Id much rather be hanging conduit in a ceiling than crawling around in an attic. The snakeskin thats right above the bathroom Im working in was a nice surprise/reminder.

I’ve got scorpions in my attic. I saw one when I was wiring my shop lights, almost scooped it up with my hands. You know there’s more.

This was just a black rat snake skin. Ill freak out if I find him but ultimately my attic is rodent free and its a harmless snake. If I do see him Ill let my snake guy know and he'll come get him.

I've had baby rattlesnakes in my irrigation box, a Sonoran sidewinder on my back porch and a small gopher snake in my garage. They all scare the crap out me. Just something about the way they move that just isn't right imo. :puke:

You must live somewhere not near me haha. Only venomous snake in my area is a copperhead. Timber rattlers are a bit further south. As far as I know the only snake that can crawl up a wall into an attic in my area is the black rat.

Yep, AZ. :tumbleweed: The snakes we do get are usually looking for water or a cool dark place to hide and rest. Unfortunately, I never notice them until I'm right on top of them or near them. A few years ago we had a sidewinder on our back patio that was apparently looking through the glass door and watching us for whatever reason. Maybe looking at the dog? I went to open the door and take the garbage out after dinner and immediately dropped the garbage bag and went back inside. The snake got just as spooked as I did and slithered off across the pool to somewhere else in the back yard. I never did see him again, but I kept a flat head shovel and my dirt bike boots for a few weeks whenever I went in the back yard. Those suckers are fast when they want to be.

In Austin we mostly have stripped bark scorpions. The sting hurts, but if you’re not allergic it’s nothing to worry about. I’ve been stung more than I’d like to admit.

....^^^... I have used a lot of S/W Duration and love it ... also newer Emerald ... and S/W Loxon is great to put on any outside cement based product.

A tip to buy S/W ... I had mid-tier commercial pricing but .... if you wait ... S/W will have 30% and 40% off sales during the year.

I buy all my S/W paint at 40% off sales and put it in the storage and when ready to use ... I take it back and have it tinted and shaken for free.

I just bought about $2,000. in paint for $1,200. and you save on the additional taxes too.

PS ... I hate snakes too ... lol

The house was a foreclosure that had a lot of holes in the roof for probably over a year. Id bet thats how it got up there. The attic has since been sealed up except the gable vents which have bat screens on them. So if snakey isnt gone yet Id bet hes either dead or going hungry.

You’d probably smell him if he’s dead. Had a small mouse die in the attic in my last house, found him right on top of the wall plate up there. Smelled terrible walking by the wall. Didn’t think something so small could stink so bad.
