Save your money on the lawyer idea. I'd continue to try and work it out with the builder or through a third party (window installer company/ roofer) that's familiar with your issue.

Does anyone have suggestions for decorator style light switches? House is over 20 now so I'm planning to replace all receptacles and switches. The only brand I've found that doesn't have their brand name embossed on the switch locally so far is Eaton. Legrand, lutron and leviton all seem to put their name on the front...

I have Leviton Decoras in my house. I'm reasonably sure they don't have Leviton embossed on them.

    I must have these:
    https://www.homedepot.com/p/Leviton...AC-Quiet-Switch-White-R72-05601-2WS/100058788

    Instead of these:
    https://www.homedepot.com/p/Leviton-Decora-Plus-15-Amp-Quiet-Switch-White-R52-05691-2WS/100142692

    or the 10 pack:
    https://www.homedepot.com/p/Leviton...-Switch-White-10-Pack-M32-05601-2WM/202204204

Looking like you might just have to make a run so you can get eyes on them.

I actually went and looked locally here. I thought the same thing at first, thinking the bulk packs are the embossed ones. But looking in person the only plain ones I found were the 3 and 4 way, or the industrial/commercial grade at $8-12 per switch.

Maybe it's a new thing they all decided to do :annoyed:

The embossing on the Leviton outlets is pretty much invisible unless youre right on top of it. Its only obvious in the store cause its right at eye level. I wouldnt be too picky.

I've got a mix of Leviton and Lutron. I think all the Lutron are dimmer switches. I've never really noticed or paid much attention to the logos until you mentioned it.

I prefer Leviton devices. The Eaton GFCI's (probably some other devices too) want you to backstab the connection and make it hard to loop the wire on the screw. Every one Ive pulled out of the wall had really loose wires.

Primed MDF architrave we're using for door and window head casings at my current client build

Using the combo gluing method with Titebond3 PVA and 2P-10 CA glue for the returns

The 2P-10 sets up in about 10 seconds acting as clamps till the Titebond3 cures in about an hour , works pretty slick and I only glued my fingers together twice so far lol

Ice dams usually happen at the eaves , not the ridge . Is it ice or snow that has gotten in ?

Centre stile of window was probably not shimmed at installation and it has sagged under the weight of the glass

@OZ-T a guy over here on the mainland has a Festool TS55 and track for $550. Seems like a good deal. Any thoughts or things to look out for buying used?

That is a good deal , not sure about any potential issues if the saw still tracks accurately and the motor is working

    I would likely be buying

    55" Festool track ?

It was snow that I think had blown in that turned to ice along the ridge vent from what I can tell. Roofers came back out and are looking to see what the issue is...

Lol.... I don't think these guys know what a shim is. It looked like they used the nailing/screw edge to square the window in an opening that was not even close to being level, plumb or square....

    this.

looks like light snow that blew in the top. If it were ice dam it would be lifting up the asphalt shingles and or causing a leak. If its tin roof also needs something like coolernan said above

you do use the nailing flange to square and plumb the window on the sides and top but the bottom needs to be supported on shims or right on the sill to carry the glass weight
