Installed a mini split for the house. A multi zone with two ceiling cassettes. Dont mind the mess outside lol.

The ceiling cassettes actually dont look to bad at all.

Yes they are. Picture doesn’t show but I’m confident there’s ample ventilation space on the other side of the condenser. Can’t expell Heat without proper air flow.

So far I'm impressed. Not that I was really worried. Three story house and the top floor never had proper HVAC so it is always colder or hotter than the rest of the house.

I installed 4 of these (3 as primary and one as secondary to handle extra load for summer months) for a 600 sq ft Elevator equip room a few yrs back at work...

Oh and the ceilings were 12 feet and it was a block walled room on a roof

Nice. When I was condo shopping a couple units had ductless setups. The condo I bought has traditional central AC, but the ground floor (about 600 sq ft) only has ONE register while upstairs (~800 sq ft) has 4! My girlfriend just doesn't understand why I'm bummed about having central instead of a ductless.

Not knowing anything about Arctic Air to Water heat pumps I search… I find out that people who can afford them have the largest basements ever, probably 4 times the SQ footage of the whole rest of the house.

What would be a good quote to hang and finish drywall for this space? Should be around 10-12 4x8' sheets. Its 10' wide for reference.
    IMG_20220129_142946926.jpg

Talked myself into getting some quotes. It would be my first time drywalling and theres like 12 inside corners that I dont want to look terrible.

I can't help with the quote but corners are of minimal concern. Tape & mud will go on all seams regardless of how tight you get it. That being said....hanging drywall isn't fun, there's a reason that's where construction guys start off. It may not be worth your time to DIY if you still end up hiring out tape/mud (that's where the real skill is needed).

Hang it yourself with a friend and have someone else tape and mud it for a moonlight fee.

I was in your shoes a while back. For some reason I had it in my head that drywall and mudding were difficult tasks. So, I hired a guy. When he was done I looked at what he did and I though I could have done that. I did the next job myself and haven't looked back. You might not want to do this job, but keep it in the back of your mind for a future simpler project.
