I picked up a corded one when it came out. Im all for new tools and their promises the vein is one that really deliverd on what it said it could do. I watched I a guy cut jams today with a door jam saw and how poorly it cut couldn't believe he was still using it.

Yeah , mine is corded too . It's not a tool I seem to use a lot but it usually impresses me when I use it

You prefer that style of slides over the undermounts ?

Its at the opposite end of the kitchen so its mainly storage so I over rated the weight on them. I can stand in the closed drawer.. Plus they were on sale soo.. Mostly they were on sale. If I hand cut the dovetails I'd probably do under mount and if it was a paid piece then yes under mounts. The SO does a food blog and loves all thing cooking so its a compromise between her needs and my desire to make the cabnetry drop jaws. Side note I'm drinking and taking apart my sport bike so if this is harder to read sorry.

Undermounts take just alittle longer to install but when I bought everything for this setup the side mounts were cheaper. Once I find some LEDs that I can set to a wall switch I'll finish the uppers and doors. Top doors are going to be the glass with bubbles. No clue on the countertop yet.

Stone diap 9% hits kinda hard and its not a win when the charging system is having an issues...

I'm going to start a strip built kayak in the shop and than move it to my garage for a beer fueled kayak build. Best part I've never been in a kayak but I'm damn sure I can build one that's going to drop jaws and open wallets.

You'd damn sure better post pics of that on here, or I'll hate you forever. I've wanted to do a strip canoe for years, but haven't been able to convince the GF to let me completely take over either the garage or the basement with a project that may take months. :anonymous:

Well, since the old building method was basically a 1/8" thermo-ply and then 1/2" of aluminum siding on the exterior, the new vinyl windows came out more than the old metal ones. Right now there is a J-molding around each window and it sticks out maybe 1/2" from the window frame. While it looks great, I really don't care for the functional design. I've put a bead of silicone caulk where the J-molding and window meet as per specs I've read on siding installation. I had them install flashing under each window before installing siding.

Yes! I stayed in my old home and put myself on a shorter-term mortgage to get the thing paid off. My wife and I decided to stay and pay it off so that we can be more secure in retirement (2 years away at 57 years old), put my kids college (done), travel more (doing that), and just basically sleep better not having a mortgage over our head. Even this old home has 2 bedrooms that aren't being used. Why do I need something bigger?

The old compressor still sitting in the corner of my shop. I don't know where any warrantee work would take place. I'll likely tear it down this fall and see what I can see - just been too busy to spend the necessary time to figure it out.

I'm thinking this is very possible. My use of compressor time is not consistent.

Oh, and yes I did remember to put the oil in.;)

Who knows, it may be something fairly simple - just disappointed that I have to mess with it at all.

I try to buy quality tools that last a long time - just didn't work out in this case.

Yea its a newer model I purchased a DW712 early 2012. It was a special order that a contractor never picked up so it was on super clearance. The downside was it is only 8 1/2" sliding compound miter saw. If I had a do over I would get a 10" or 12" sliding miter saw. I wish I would have gotten a more common blade size. This has done everything I have asked it to just the plastics on the handle are not holding up at all. Just a little disappointing based on cost and I thought the DeWalt name was pretty solid. I probably wont get another tool from them though this one may be a lemon I am not impressed.

Lumber yard dropped off my lumber today. Of what I ordered there is only about 7 boards that I have to take back and have exchanged. They are just to ugly to use for top/bottom plates. I would take some pictures but right now everything is under plastic. I cant wait to get underway tomorrow evening.

Oz or anyone else, can you advise? Went looking at HD.com for compressor prices and reviews and saw they have kits as well. Are the kits any decent? Some are priced with a nailer as a kit and you can buy the compressor itself for the same price, so either the nailer is junk or mark up allows for it, but not my area of knowledge

Any brands to stay away from? Lot of porter cable compressors/kits on the website with good, quantity reviews and priced low.
