I wouldn't bother chipping it out. Bigger headache. I'd just mix up some quick set concrete, fill a zip lock gallon bag, cut the bottom corner off and pipe it in. :notsure:

Well, if you're gonna spend the time on it, do it right. It's alot of work, but the best way would be to remove all the mortar...

That was my thought. Or maybe use damtite.

I hate that wall, it is pretty, but I wish they would have left it brick.

Depends on how well bonded it is. Looking at those failures either they didn't compact the base before they started the base course or they used the crappiest mortar known to man. I'd start by hitting the mortar seams with a mason hammer to see if they are even bonded still. If there not it's all gonna happen again a few years down the road. But I'm a carpenter and not a mason so I could be way off. lol

I’m no mason, but that seems like a lot of mortar and not enough rock? Not sure if mortar will fail sooner having a big span like that. I could be totally wrong just spitballin’

I think if you start chipping it out the wall is going to crumble and you'll end up spending more to rebuild it or replace it entirely. Agreed on settling over time likely causing the cracks. How much time/money do you want to invest in it?

This is when I need you to lie to me and tell me it’s a 5 minute fix, even though I know the one who had this done got the cheapest contractor (and I use that term loosely) they could find. Better buy some stock in damtite and plastic bags, looks like this is gonna be my big summer project.

I have a well used and abused, but good working DeWalt SDS hammer drill that would make quicker work out of that with a chipping bit...

Trust me, I've been going through the "Oh what in the fuck!?" phase at my house several times since buying it January this year...

I've got the Dewalt 20V rotary hammer. That thing has done more drilling and chipping then I'd like to admit. Still going strong after 8 years of at least weekly abuse.

That's a more user friendly unit compared to my old beast...

I also have an 18V cordless that is good for smaller stuff. I got both for free at the old place I worked at back in Mississippi; just had to order and put in parts as they were both broken...

this might sound like a dumb question but do you guys get winter conditions where it rains during the day then freezes at night ? because that looks like frost heaving / ice heaving in the joints to me

    A bunch..and no build thread!
Started the clear out of the garage today after I got home from work in preparation for this weekends planned upgrades. I collected a lot of crap over the years. I did give away a TON of old corded tools and a new garage door opener I cannot remember ever buying though, so my neighbor was pretty happy..lol

that impedance is flowing through the hot and neutral wires and through whatever load is plugged in that top outlet. If you are not understanding how filter bandwidth is set in the time domain network and converted to frequency you probably don’t want to dig that deep, but here’s a sneak preview
