Inductors wired in series as shown on that outlet will function as a low-pass filter. They will act as nearly no resistance to low-frequency 60 Hz wall voltage, but will act as higher resistance to higher frequencies. They are likely there for RF isolation of radio equipment or similar which may be sensitive to RF noise on the line.

Some quick background: Inductors ramp voltage to maintain constant current via stored energy in the magnetic field which is focused in the ferromagnetic core. This is why a coil sparks when the current starts or is interrupted. The resistance vs. frequency relationship of an inductor is the inverse of that of a capacitor. That is, capacitors have decreasing resistance at higher frequency and are an ~open circuit at low frequency.

Nice, maybe I can find some old pictures of what they had set up here. Might have been something cool. The giant concrete pad with about an eight foot diameter bolt pattern leads me to believe they had the best of something here haha

Looks great. Did you do this all yourself or custom order? and what material did you use?

Thinking of doing something similar for mudroom lockers, and trying to convince myself that I can do it to the quality it will look good.

Alright need some help. I’ve got the pocket door installed, and now I’m moving on to the perpendicular wall. It’s going to T into the “hidden” portion of the pocket door, so within the wall. My question is, should I put some sort of wall finish over the pocket door (drywall/plywood/etc) before putting this perpendicular wall in place?

the boards on the floor represent where the wall will be

Yes, here’s another example at a pocket door in my house.

I’ll basically be making a corner similar to this. Just not sure what was done back there lol

Actually check this out, I got a picture in the gap of that pocket door. I know it’s an awful picture but the wood you see to the left is the 2x4 framing of the perpendicular wall. this pocket door is a bit different with horizontal 1x’s in there but principal is same

If theres storage in there, id def cover where the door goes in. If its just hidden in the wall id leave it
