Did this on a few of the windows. Just wedged a nail between the casing and the actual windows.

My mother-in-law is dealing with this type of situation after choosing a very low bid to reside her house. It's an absolute mess and their follow-up repairs make you wish you'd just either done it yourself or left it as is. There is a guy on Instagram that teaches a lot of these techniques if you want to remedy the issues yourself. He's under the account name "thesidingguy". He's really helpful and will answer questions.

So a few years later same company calls about doing the roof. We needed to get the roof done and the offered a discount because we had them do the siding. Figured ok it won’t be the same guys that did siding. A year goes by a we notice a leak. Call them they come out and say it’s the siding that’s causing the leak. Call them back, 2 weeks go by and the siding guys show up and say it’s not the siding it’s the roof. They take pictures and send it to the company. Said we should hear back from them. After a few weeks I call them and they said they thought it was fixed. So they send a guy out another week later and this was his fix. This roof is over a screen porch.

This is messed up. That is NOT how you attach casing correctly.
    That did a horrible job.

Personally, I would have never used that company again after seeing how they did siding.

Well it didn’t fix it and another guy came out and said whoever did the roof didn’t put any flashing in. So they pull the siding off and put the flashing in but they couldn’t get the siding to line back up. So they cut it. Cut it to short and face nailed it to the house.

I'd take the time to report them to the BBB and I'd never let them touch my house again. That is some super shady work.

I'd even report them to your local ordinance office. Surely they are doing work all over that area and they'd want to know about it.

Even if they thought I wouldn’t get up on the roof did they not think I would see this from the ground? Not sure why but they cut the bottom of the siding to over lap the one below it. You can see it on the bottom right of the window.

At first I didn’t want to use them because I was still mad about the siding but I know the roofers aren’t the same guys and they took a lot of money off for return customer. They are supposed to be back next week to fix the siding again. They came out to fix it yesterday. Put new siding up but then just like the other idiots they faced nailed all of it.

Even if face nailing was acceptable, which it isn't, there is no caulking/sealant behind the nail heads. And you couldn't use a bonded sealing washer because you can't nail it down firmly due to thermal expansion!

Probably nothing if you need to add just one circuit, I try not to use them as a general rule.

Seems every time I opened a panel with a bunch of tandems it was crammed with wires and a heck of a mess.

I suppose they are better than putting two wires on one breaker. o_O

Much of the wiring and plumbing in the place I worked was apparently done by drunk monkeys on a Saturday morning after an all night bender.

It is a wonder that the place never burned down.
    I fixed a lot of stupid stuff.:frusty:

I'm on my 7th or 8th house since my early 20's (I'm 64) lost count!

Worst siding: LP ROT and cupped cedar in direct hot sun painted a really dark blue. No trim issues like that above though. That looks like plastic (?)
Wiring? Hot and Neutral mixed and in more than one house. Electric water heater (240 of course, one leg wire was shorting to case lid, arc and spark - bad workmanship) lights that were double powered with two switches........all kinds odd ass and dangerous shit
