Hes gonna pressure wash it tomorrow once its dry, but other than caulk and paint everything on the outside is done.

    Looks great!

I suck at drywall, two things I have learned over the years:
    1) better cuts make for easier finishing
    2) be skimpy with the mud because sanding a bunch of extra is quite possibly the worst DIY job ever

    Good luck:fingerscrossed:

The new mattress came with "free" delivery. Living in a split level condo sucks so I always take companies up on their delivery offer. Well a king bed up a low clearance stairwell didn't work out too well for my bullnose this morning :angrygirl: We abhor these floors so having to fix them is just salt in the wound...but we also don't want to undertake replacing them with a 10 month old baby taking up all our time.

Thanks! He did a great job at matching it from my other doors.

Thanks! Thankfully, the worst part to patch is gonna be covered up by cabinets and a tile backsplash.

    My first drywall experience:
This was long before the internet BTW.

A fellow told me "It's just like bodywork", so I laid the mud on generously and stood by with my cheese grater file at the ready to cut it down when it partially "kicked".

As it seemed to be very slow to kick I got a lot of mud done, the entire room in fact...:lalala:

Just in case there is anyone out there dumber than me I learned four lessons quick:
    1) mud doesn't kick
    2) you can't cut it down with a cheese grater file
    3) drywall is not at all like bodywork
    4) the guy who told me that was either an idiot or a sadistic bastard

Left with a large room with joints covered in 3/8" of mud I began to sand.

    It got old real fast...:help:

BRAINSTORM: Put the sanding screen on a 1/2 sheet electric sander!

This worked much better, actually did a good job.

And then, without ceremony, came the fifth lesson:
    5) Don't sand pounds of mud with the (warm air) furnace running -- the adjoining kitchen looked like it got hit by a snowstorm.

Another vote for Ecobee 3 thermostat with remote sensors which are also integrated into my hubitat hubs. I have had 2 Ecobee 3's for ~ 3 years and really like them. They have the right level of granular control, which I miss in the Google options as they try to figure too much out on their own in my opinion.

The ecobee app ia really clean and is not buggy at all.

Can these 2 switches sit beside each other like this? The metal “flanges” I’ll call them, on the sides are touching.

I think those are heat sinks. If you remove them, the dimmer wattage rating goes down.

You are correct. But these are only controlling 1 can light and 3 can lights respectively. Super low wattage

Is this a termite? The termites I’ve seen were always a creamy white color. I’m always seeing black ants in this area, so I’m thinking not termites.

Much easier fix. Get some 20 Mule Team Borax and mix it up with some jelly or honey and put in the area of activity. They'll gobble that shit up and take it back to the nest and wipe them all out. Works like a champ. There's youtubes videos on it.
