Something simple today, starting the process on cleaning up the front of the house. Got the chainsaw out and removed three overgrown and ugly evergreens...

Also, my newly acquired free wheelbarrow was a little small for the task, but worked great!

Still lots more to go. Going to cut everything back and let them grow out proper, not all wild like they had been. The previous owner was having serious health issues the last year they owned it, so I completely understand.

It ain’t pretty, but he hasn’t complained yet. That’s the only luck I’ve had hiring out and man I’m grateful for it. I’d stack that shit ever how he wanted if he asked haha

    haha , I hate drywall

I get why my dude likes the stack to be neat , the edges are protected that way but on our sites there is usually 10 people crawling all over the stack and bumping into it with shit before they start actually hanging board , different scenario

It’s the only thing we’ve hired out besides having the exterior stuff painted haha I’d rather do just about anything else but drywall and paint.

Yes it can affect speeds. You want to have the cable line that comes into your house go directly to your cable modem with as few splits as possible. It's the splits that get you.

hex crimp is the older method and that coupler looks oxidized to me
    is it RG59 or RG6
the feeder sounds like RG11 by your description
yes every connection like this degrades the signal a little bit
the shield should be tied to earth ground someplace (especially in lightning prone areas)
the voltage is only 5Vp-p so no harm is disconnecting other than a potential data interruption
for best speed a new RG6 or RG11 line run to the modem bypassing all the old cable would be best

Interesting thing is we had a big thunder and lightning storm roll through this week and it fried my modem and router. When I was going through everything downstairs I noticed the ground for the CAT cable was disconnected from my FIL moving some heater copper pipe the ground was previously connected on. I hadn’t thought too much about it before now.
