No log home guy I isn't.
Welp here is what I would do. My dad was an electrician and I do all my own wiring - but not a local code guy - so up you. This is legal in most areas for old work installs, though technically the outlet should be in an adjacent cabinet.

Hard Mount a metal (outlet) box against the floor and base of the wall in an area that there will plenty of room when the dishwasher is skootched in. Just run the romex over to it, through a clamping pasthrough, ground the box and the outlet normally - use metal cover plate if you want but there may be some clearance issues.

I don't have any experience, but this guy is from Chicago talks at length about cold weather and heat pumps. I like how heat pumps seem to break physics by providing more heat than they use.

Do you spend more hours (money) heating or cooling per year?
I would select a unit that has higher efficiency for the longer season.

i've been seeing a lot more of them on the job. my church just upgraded to a cascading/alternating 3-unit navien system (it alternates between the 3 units to keep wear even, but then if 1 fails for any reason, is intelligent enough to rely on the other 2 units) to replace an ancient boiler system, it's working fine, 3 months in.

otherwise, the few other plumbing outfits i've worked with have been using them on other jobs. as the electrician, they're of course not going to come to me for complaints, but no one's been shouting or frustrated after they're installed, so i'd call it a win.

A NG heat pump could be good, in my neighborhood everything is electric. The heat pump struggles below 40° F. I supplement it with a wood stove in the lower lever, which helps to heat the floors.

Some new heat pumps can still harvest energy down to -20C (-4F)

My coworker went with a Fujitsu mini split because they're rated to -15F now. I'll have to ask him how it's doing come January.

More hours heating but at the moment electricity is about 3x more expensive than gas. I'm leaning towards the HP and if it becomes too much to run I'll just raise the set point so it's running the furnace 99% of the time.

Modern heat pumps can work both ways, heating and cooling. A traditional air conditioner is just a heat pump that works in one direction. Not sure what the OP is looking at though.

For the 2 years that I’ve been in this condo I’ve had my TV & stereo on this cabinet just until I got around to getting the TV on the wall & replace the Onkyo/Klipsch 3.1 setup with a sound bar. Well a big fly in the ointment was always what to do with the internet modem that’s hooked to the line that comes through the wall behind the cabinet. If I 86’d the cabinet I’d still need to have something for the modem to sit on. I haven’t been happy with our ISP, but unfortunately they’re the only line in town. Welp today I picked up a T-Mobile 5G modem/router combo to try out. I put it upstairs in a windowsill that literally has a view of the tower about 1/8 mile away.
    • Costs $32 less per month
    • Frees up the wall where the TV is
    • Averaging double the speed for half a day now.

The cabinet is already sold to a friend. The TV mount is ordered, as is the bracket that’ll attach the sound bar to the TV mount. Next up is to order a recessed AV plug/cubby or whatever it’s called and run power up the wall from the existing plug. With a 14 month old we’re realizing how valuable floor space is so I’m excited to free up this 21” x 65” area.

Question for y'all...this is a picture of my gas furnace's vent and the nice ice sculptures it is building. The stalagtite doesn't bother me, I can knock it down before it gets to the pipe, but I'm worried about the sheet of ice on the siding. Could ice buildup like that damage the siding (LPSmartside)? Should I put a sheet of flashing over it so the ice builds up on the flashing instead of the siding?

I don't know if flashing is the right solution but water sitting on wood is never a good idea.
There doesn't appear to be any sealant where the pipes go through the siding either.

There should be a piece of flashing under the siding and over that bottom trim board. And as already noted, those pipes should be sealed/caulked.
