I'd say ridgid and 10 inch that way you can share blades with your table saw. I havnt used a 12 in years.

The ridgid had the best feel, stops, and base of the last group of saws I looked at recently. Dewalt would be next choice. I like my older Hitachi better than the new design.

 

Yeah the Hitachi I used was 20+ years old.

I would probably suggest the 10" Miter saw as well. Since you're mostly planning on cutting long pieces of wood. It could get a little sketchy on a table saw.

I bought the Dewalt sliding dual bevel from lowes. At the time, they were including the cheaper stand for free. It's basically just a stand ($119). No stops for repeat cuts.

If you can wait for Black Friday, you might get a pretty good deal regardless of what you decide.

Hi guys, been building a house for last two months. Does that count as home improvement?

 

That's some cool features on that saw. I like the slider option for putting the saw against the wall.


Edit: I've had one of the Hitachi table saws for about 12 years and it's been a good one when I needed a job site saw.

 

Here is a pic of the progress. It's just me and my 70 year old dad. We are working on it after I get out of work.

Formed the footers and poured, hire my mason buddy to do the block with us(2 extra courses high) he also came back to run the power trowl and screet for the 30 yards in the floor.

 

It's for my wife and my twin girls

 

Well done , that's a lot of work done in that amount of time

 

I don't like the 1016 because they made the table so damn small , if that's not an issue for you I would get that one otherwise the Kapex KS 120 is a nice saw or find a 1013
