Rehabbing a 1930's cabin. When I pulled up the wall to wall carpet there was hard wood underneath, and this painted linoleum rug. I tried to save the rug, but it crumbled.
Put up a whole lot of shiplap on the walls.

Lvp is easy also, it just takes a little extra planning depending on the room size. Score and snap.

There's nothing luxury about vinyl. I wish they would stop marketing it as such.

But but but,.. wont someone think about the forever chemicals? How else are you going to get your daily off-gas of formaldehydes and VOC's?

That's not entirely wrong. We did high quality LVP throughout our house, as it was the only option within our price range. It looks great... BUT... even though it has wood texture to it, it feels like you're walking on vinyl. I wouldn't change it now that we have it, cause we still can't afford anything nicer (hardwood / engineered hardwood), but it is something we're noticing as we live with it.

So true. I used to work in homebuilding. One time we did a frame walk on our four models for this typical NPC master planned SoCal suburban community. Someone for each of the associated trades would attend these walks. The framer was LIVID to see that the plumber had rip-sawed through a ton of his studs to jam a bathtub in. It was like someone had “slashed the Mona Lisa.” Never forgot his face. Looked like De Niro in Frankenstein. That poor man took pride in his work.

No, space is too small to do that. I was able to get the plumbing in on the other side.

Back at it on the very small half bath addition.

Got the bead board up and started on making a cabinet.

Now, I'm not a cabinet builder by any standard, but I have a table saw, miter saw, and air nail gun! All wood used is re-purposed shelves that was in that exact closet. Using the old lumber the colors all actually match, but everything will be primed and painted white.

Not the best, but it's a place to wash your hands after taking a dump!

    Thanks Mark! :fistbump:

The worst part is trying to get everything leveled and squared up in a 60 year old house. Close enough seems to be the theme on this one! The cuts on the 1/4" bead board were all over the darn place. Thank goodness for painters caulk!

@ OZ-T- any updates on your massive home rebuild project? I think the last pics were of the outside deck framing with the scuppers.

Putting Master Bedroom back together after major painting job after 20 years. I tend to overdo the prep for the painters, all the light switch covers off, wall plug covers, everything off the walls, etc.
I only lost 2 screws in the whole process! Looks damn good.
Fixing dresser glides too. 30 year old oak dressers and end tables good as new!
