Maybe being unfinished assumes it will be covered sometime in the future. My basement is unfinished, but all of the electrical was installed like it will be behind drywall some day.

LED interior, license plate, and fog lights. More to come.
They definitely didn't plan on that here. I have never been in an unfinished basement or a crawlspace where everything was in conduit.

Unfinished but framed walls vs a box screwed to the wall is different. The wall framing "protects" the romex.

Agree it should have gone in conduit

What about the wiring coming out of the breaker box feeding the house? Should it be in conduit?

Started to repaint a window, quickly turned into a full replacement as the wood just crumbled away. Just ordered a new window will be here in a couple weeks!

Not sure I understand what your asking. Breaker boxes go in walls (typically) and the wires coming out go through the framed walls.

Are you saying your breaker box is on concrete like the picture?

Got a quote for 3 exterior doors the other day. 40k! Seriously?! 40k for 3 doors?! What has this world come to? Maybe I'll just paint the garage instead.

Don’t remember if I put it in here or not, but reminds me of last year I had a guy come out for a quote on 5 Anderson Windows. 20k. Said if I sign a contract right then that day they would do it for 15k.

I mean it's probably grandfathered in based on when it was installed but definitely not correct for today

I learned something today; mine in the basement looks exactly like that picture and the house is a 50s house. Thanks for the info
