Who said anything about feeling good?

They set out with the goal of getting it done. It is technically done.

Last time I replaced the HVAC, I got off cheep. I sourced the unit and hired a customer who was a HVAC contractor to do it for $1500.00 cash. The unit cost me something like $2000.00.

Recently made these custom floating drawer units for a customer with a 42" wall mounted bathroom sink. It has a flat bottom, so they'll be mounted flush to the bottom (the reason for no top). Once mounted, they'll appear to be one unit. The space in the middle is to accommodate the plumbing. The outer boxes will be secured to studs with structural screws. She wanted "cheap" so no fancy joinery or drawer slides. Glue & screws and simple wood strips/runners the drawers slide on (a little wax does wonders). They slide very nice with no binding. Pics to follow after installation.

I was involved in the install of a huge sand filter system back in the 80s . Can handle like 20 homes for 25 years before the fields need replacement. 2 fields each 100’ by 250’ . Everything pumped up from a pump station down near the shoreline of a lake community. The guy that designed the system ( water from fields goes into a catch basin and drains into a pond on the golf course ) said that water will be drinkable when it comes out of catch basin . I told him I will take your word on that

That's what I did a few years ago. But I was very house poor at the time and didn't have the cash, so I had to endure without A/C for a whole summer in TN to save up the cash. That was one hot summer!:bananadead: But it saved me about $5K. I got the new unit put in just in time to turn the heat on for the winter.

So I’ll provide an update to my drywall journey.

it sucks and I suck at it.

    the end.

But really, I learned that I’m not cut out for it, or at least not cut out to self teach myself. So thankfully I have a good contact that’ll come in and fix up my booger work, and this is why I started in the smallest room of my house to try and teach myself. Lessons learned, only time wasted really.

Alright so could use some advice/opinions here. We picked up a "scratch and dent" Gas Range and got it installed this past weekend. The dent is pretty obvious and for the price they offered its easy enough to replace the damaged portion...

But anyways...when using the oven the front stainless part are getting HOT. Ill attach a picture with a red square showing where it is getting hot. As in to hot to even touch. On the control panel piece its hot on the bottom of it (to hot to touch) and the heat travel up it (the flat part facing you is touchable but is warm).

The top back of the stove does appear to have vents. One of which is blowing hot air out. The other one is doing nothing. Green square is "working". Red is not.

Its been awhile since we had a gas stove but we dont remember our old one getting hot in the front. So i guess our question is...is this "normal"? The install manual doesnt mention anything about it (nor did the owners manual)

Honestly same. But with that said, if your contact is the right kind of person, you’re at just the right point to learn how to do it and never forget if they’re willing to teach you.

One of my customers has an attached screened in porch (accessible from the exterior). Some of the screen inserts are in rough shape. Was asked to repair a bunch. One had significant rot along the bottom edge and others needed new screening and many had missing/broken 1/2 round trim pieces.

I was hoping to just replace that one rotten section, but the original frame had corrugated splines (6 on each miter) holding the miters together. I assumed these were made in a factory as they were deep into the frame. Couldn't separate them without destroying the miters. Ended up just making a new one and pre-painted all the 1/2 round trim needed for the others. Had to prime the bare wood and pre-painted the first coat. I used 2 diagonal through dowels on each miter for reinforcement. Frame material was 7/8" stock rough sawn on one side. Plenty of glue of course.

Moved our citrus trees to the other side of the house (full sun) then planted another plant on the other side. Getting some stamped concrete edging done next month so cleaning up the lawn a bit also. Still need to get my lawn back in order.

There’s an assisted living community near us. I’ve worked there a few times. Their sewage treatment is 3 aerated ponds. Pond one flows into pond two which flows into pond three. Pond three is sprayed into the nearby foliage. The yellow ice hanging from the surrounding trees is quite a site in the winter…
