Alright, I know you fellers are tired of me posting this project, but anyways...

Hung the rest of the rock and set the tape with Easysand 90 (that is not actually that easy  ) and did a coat of Plus 3. I'll sand it and go for a 3rd coat next weekend. I kind goofed on the closet door, but I'm using 1x4 trim so it will be covered. I'll just use some scrap 'rock to shim it.

I did unfortunately have to create a butt joint. Small wall beside the house and kind of behind the chimney there was no room with the garage door opener mounted, and there was no way in Hell I was taking that off, re-hanging it, and programming that thing again.

Like an idiot I forgot to take pictures before pulling the car in there :anonymous:

1x3 seems to be the better size imo. 1x4 is too wide. We have about 50% of our house done with 1x3 now

I thought you were going to use this as an opportunity to organize the garage? :D

My shed is packed so full of crap from the garage, but I'm still tripping over what's left in the garage I am using now or want locked up better

I need to do a serious purge of crap. I think I just need to break down and go to the dump.

I don't know how far you're in to the bag of mud, but I've learned from pro drywallers, use the 20 minute mix. It means mixing smaller batches, but it also sets faster. By the time you finish mudding your one long wall, you can start sanding at the beginning again, but before it's fully hardened, so it's more of 'cheese grating'. Which can help a ton in time.

The 90 minute stuff seems to take more like 4 hours to set.

And the pre-mixed stuff is only valuable for the plastic bucket.

Stackable dryer on top of washer. Vent straight back? Or 90 down and vent low at washer level?

Do you have an existing vent or are you installing one from scratch? I'd do the 90 and drop if you already have a vent.

Nothing in yet. Metal exoskeleton behind the foamboard. Water heater vents already high in the wall to the left. Aesthetics are not a concern.

Shortest, straightest path would be ideal. I need to order one of those magnetic vents.

yeah, I got a magvent in the box above it waiting for me to get it done. Pilot hole first to see where it sits and adjust to the ribs is the current plan. Once I drill I'm committed. Just looking for anyone else to tell me if they see any smarter plan. Just got the other end of the gas line threaded through the eye of the needle a couple of days ago so finally ready for some dryer love.

All the drywall guys ive had do work have always used the boxed mud. Granted they thin it out from the box.

The 90 seemed to have dried in about an hour for me. Was nice to get a coat of pre mixed on top so I can then sand it all and feather in a 3rd coat.
